STYXX: A Bold New Skewers & Grill Bar Ignites Teck Lim Road This November

From the creators of Leila, the stylish Middle Eastern–Balkan gastro-bar, comes a fiery new sibling — STYXX. Opening in early November 2025 along Teck Lim Road in Singapore’s Chinatown, STYXX turns up the heat with a bolder, grittier take on Middle Eastern flavours, reimagined for the modern urban crowd.

A Modern Playground of Fire, Bread & Flavour

STYXX celebrates the beauty of simplicity — where fire meets flavour, and every meal starts with housemade saluf, a warm, hand-rolled flatbread served with three vibrant mezze dips:

  • Black Tahini (black sesame and black garlic tahini)

  • Matbuha (spicy tomato relish)

  • Pickles to refresh the palate

Each table becomes a communal feast, where bread is torn, skewers are shared, and conversations flow as freely as the wine.

Skewers That Steal the Show

The stars here, of course, are the Styxx — skewers flame-grilled to smoky perfection and served from $8 onwards. Expect 150g portions of juicy, charred goodness in every bite.

Highlights include:

  • Shishlik Chicken Thigh ($18) – tender, juicy, and perfectly grilled

  • Chicken Hearts ($14) – rich and chewy, yet tender

  • Kebab ($16) – classic Middle Eastern-style ground beef

  • Merguez Sausage ($16) – spicy lamb with cumin and bold seasoning

  • Layered Kebab ($16) – minced beef and lamb fat topped with beetroot pink tahini

  • Fish Skewers ($19) and Seafood Mix ($19) – flame-kissed and ocean-fresh

  • Padron Peppers ($16) and King Oyster Mushrooms ($18) – smoky, meaty vegetarian favourites

  • Wagyu Skewer ($29 for 100g) – melt-in-your-mouth indulgence

Small Plates & Hearty Mains

Pair your Styxx with vibrant small plates like Hummus Baladi & Falafel ($18), Freekeh Salad ($17) with smoked labneh, or Dolma ($17) — stuffed onions with spiced beef and rice.

For something more substantial, go Beyond the Styxx with sharing platters:

  • Taboon Lahme ($34) – slow-cooked lamb stew baked in bread dough

  • Half Chicken ($26) / Whole Chicken ($43) – harissa-marinated, applewood-smoked perfection

  • Alaskan King Crab Leg ($69) – poached in smoked garlic butter for ultimate luxury

Sweet Endings

End on a sweet high with Baklava & Kadaif ($15), rich Chocolate Mousse ($15), or the Basbousa Cake ($23, serves 2–3) — a fragrant semolina cake layered on rosewater pudding.

The Spirit of STYXX

At its heart, STYXX is about connection — between tradition and modernity, local and global, fire and flavour. The name “STYXX” playfully nods to the skewers themselves (“sticks”) while the double “XX” adds an edgy, urban twist — a symbol of bold creativity and fiery energy.

Getting There

STYXX is located along Teck Lim Road, just off Keong Saik Street — a short walk from Outram Park MRT (Exit H). Parking is limited, so public transport or ride-hailing is recommended.

Pro Tips

  • Try the Layered Kebab for a signature dish you won’t forget.

  • Don’t skip the complimentary saluf flatbread — it’s made fresh and pairs beautifully with every dip.

  • Go early for dinner and stay for drinks; the energy builds as the night goes on.
