Singapore offers many bubble tea options, including several popular and well-loved brands. However, my personal favourite is the underrated Chun Fun How Singapore, a hidden gem that deserves more recognition.
Located in the Esplanade Mall, Chun Fun How has only one outlet in Singapore, which is why it remains relatively unknown to some. Despite its limited presence, it is exceptionally good, and I wish there were more outlets, as travelling to Esplanade every time is not always convenient.
Named after founder and owner Mr. Lin Chun-Chen’s father, the shop features charming flower decorations, and their milk tea cups are beautifully designed with colourful patterns.
Their commitment to using premium ingredients directly imported from Taiwan truly shines through in the authentic taste of their milk tea. Unlike most bubble tea, their tea has a genuinely strong flavour that stands out.
Among their milk tea series, a standout is the Osmanthus Oolong Milk Tea, known for its rich and fragrant taste. It tends to be sweet on its own, so I recommend opting for less sugar. The other gem is their Four Season Milk Tea. Although Four Season tea isn’t widely known, its unique flavour surprised me with its exceptional taste.
Another recommended series is their Sweet Potato series, featuring options like Sweet Potato Green Tea Latte or Sweet Potato Black Milk Tea.
Additionally, their Chun Fun How Special Tea lineup offers refreshing choices like Grapefruit Pulp Green Tea and Passionfruit Guava Tea, known for their health benefits and delicious flavours.
For toppings, they offer the usual favourites like pearl, grass jell and aloe vera. They also have more unique options such as caramel pudding and Hantian white pearl. These toppings add a special touch to your bubble tea experience.
Although the location might be a bit inconvenient for some, Chun Fun How is definitely a must-try. If you ever come across it, be sure to give it a try for a delightful bubble tea experience.
