Food Republic at City Square Mall has been renovated with an exciting 1980s theme, complete with carpark decorations. Inspired by the open-air street hawker stalls of the past, it exudes a retro vibe. You’ll find Instagram-worthy spots throughout, including vintage taxi service booths, sky and cloud paintings, and carpark mirrors.

The food stall lineup is also impressive, featuring two Michelin Bib Gourmand stalls. One of them is HJH Maimunah, which has specialised in Malay nasi padang since 1992. Their famous Tahu Telur is a delightful dish of tofu battered with whisked egg, deep-fried to a golden brown, and served with peanut sauce and bean sprouts.

Another standout stall is Li Xin Teochew Fishball Noodles, which has been using the same recipe since 1968. Their fish balls, fish cakes, and fish dumplings are all handmade with yellowtail fish, ensuring authentic and delicious flavours.

Other notable stalls include Thye Hong Hokkien Mee, with generous portions of succulent prawns and squid, and Gaga Roasted Delights, which offers tender, flavourful roasted meats.

For drinks and desserts, head to Quench, which specialises in an old school refreshing ice ball treat ($2) that is not commonly found in Singapore nowadays.

In celebration of their reopening, Food Republic will be running an exclusive promotion until 30 June 2024, while stocks last. Customers who spend a minimum of $12 in a single receipt will receive a Tikam Tikam scratch card, offering instant-win prizes such as Food Republic vouchers and promotional items from tenants, priced at $3 each.

Address: 180 Kitchener Rd, #B3-04, Singapore 208539

Opening Hours: 10am – 10pm daily
