Japanese steak concept Bari Bari has given its Singapore dining experience an upgrade with the opening of Bari Bari Grand at The Capitol Kempinski.

Opened on 9 August 2026, the new restaurant is the brand’s first elevated Bari Bari Grand concept, bringing together its familiar hot stone dining format with premium A4/A5 Miyazaki wagyu, seafood dishes, an expanded Gourmet Bar, sake and wine, plus a new alfresco social space.

Located within The Capitol Kempinski in Singapore’s Civic District, the restaurant offers Bari Bari’s widest menu to date, with options ranging from wagyu tartare and oysters to lobster teppan and large-format platters for sharing.

Start With Miyazaki Wagyu Tartare And Japanese Oysters

Wagyu fans can start the meal with the Miyazaki Wagyu Tartare ($25), served with savoury seasonings and a raw egg yolk.

Another option is the Miyazaki Wagyu Tataki Ponzu ($25), featuring lightly seared slices of beef paired with a citrus-soy dipping sauce.

For seafood, Premium Japanese Oysters are priced at $6.80 each, $38 for half a dozen or $68 for a dozen.

A4/A5 Miyazaki Wagyu From $68 For 150g

A major highlight of Bari Bari Grand is its selection of A4/A5 Miyazaki Wagyu Teppan, available across four cuts.

The Zabuton costs $68 for 150g and is a richly marbled cut with limited quantities available. Diners can also choose the Ribeye Round ($75 for 150g), Sirloin ($68 for 150g) or the particularly indulgent Rib Cap ($88 for 150g).

According to the restaurant, its Miyazaki wagyu comes from beef associated with four consecutive wins at Japan’s National Wagyu Award.

Teppan dishes are accompanied by house-made truffle mashed potatoes, cherry tomatoes, seared Brussels sprouts and pearl corn, while steaks are topped with house herb butter.

Lobster, Mentaiko Salmon And Gindara Join The Teppan Menu

Bari Bari Grand also expands the concept beyond steak with several seafood dishes.

The Lobster Teppan ($69) is prepared with a cheese-forward thermidor-style treatment, while the Lobster & Wagyu Hamburg Steak Teppan ($49) pairs lobster with a house-made Japanese wagyu hamburg steak.

Other options include Salmon Mentaiko ($28) and Gindara Teriyaki ($32).

Those who want scallops can opt for the Salmon Mentaiko & Scallops Mentaiko ($32) or Gindara Teriyaki & Scallops Mentaiko ($36).

Sharing Platters For Groups Of Four To Six

Groups planning a bigger meal can pre-order one of two large-format dishes.

The Seafood Platter ($288) serves around four to six people and includes six Aka Ebi, 500g of king crab, six Hokkaido scallops and six Japanese oysters.

Meat lovers can instead order a Tomahawk at $18 per 100g, with each steak weighing around 1.5kg and also intended for four to six diners.

Both dishes require three days’ advance pre-ordering.

Smaller sides include Chicken Nanban ($9), Iidako Karaage ($10), Corn Shoyu Butter Aonori ($7), Gobou Karaage ($9), Wagyu Suji Stew ($19) and Atsuage Negi Cheese Yaki ($8).

Finish Your Steak On A Japanese Hot Stone

Bari Bari Grand retains the interactive steak experience associated with the brand.

Cuts are first seared on an iron griddle by the kitchen before being presented on a high-density Japanese hot stone that can be heated to up to 300°C.

Diners can then continue cooking each slice on the hot stone until it reaches their preferred doneness.

Every Main Comes With A Free-Flow Gourmet Bar

Ordering any main course or teppan set includes complimentary access to the Gourmet Bar.

The free-flow selection rotates and may include crisp greens, chef salads, sides such as tuna tataki, rice and other carbohydrates, along with desserts including warabi mochi and matcha tiramisu.

There is also a sauce station where diners can pair their food with Signature Bari Bari Sauce, Miyazaki Yakiniku Sauce, Premium Okinawa Salt, Yuzu Onion Sauce and Wasabi Sauce.

This could be particularly useful for diners with bigger appetites, as the accompanying dishes can be topped up throughout the meal.

Sake And Wines For Group Dinners

Bari Bari Grand has also expanded its drinks selection to include sake, wines, highballs, beers, mocktails and other non-alcoholic beverages.

Sake options include Hanagaki Junmai Nigori ($35 for 300ml) and Hakkaisan Tokubetsu Junmai ($115 for 720ml).

House pours include Rothbury Estate Shiraz-Cabernet at $12 per glass or $55 per bottle, and Torresella Pinot Grigio at $12 per glass or $65 per bottle.

Bottle selections also include Chablis, Syrah and Prosecco.

Bari Bari Social Offers Alfresco Drinks And Casual Bites

Those who are more interested in drinks and sharing plates can head to Bari Bari Social, the restaurant’s relaxed alfresco section.

Unlike the main dining experience, guests at Bari Bari Social do not need to order a main course.

Sharing bites include Tebasaki Karaage ($11) made with prawn paste, Truffle Chips ($9), Gobou Karaage ($9), fried Cheese Dice ($11) and Wagyu Saikoro Cubes in Red Wine Sauce ($25).

The venue is also promoting happy hour offers including Japanese oysters at $3 each, house wine at $7 per glass and sake of the month at $70 per 720ml bottle.

Pro Tip

If you’re visiting in a group and want either the $288 Seafood Platter or approximately 1.5kg Tomahawk, remember that both require three days’ advance pre-ordering.

For smaller groups, ordering a main or teppan set also gives each diner access to the complimentary Gourmet Bar, so it may be worth checking the day’s selection before adding too many side dishes.
