Eating a little healthier in Singapore does not always have to mean settling for a cold salad.
Da Paolo Gastronomia is putting the spotlight on its Greens & Grains range, a build-your-own meal concept centred around fresh produce, wholesome grains, vegetables and proteins.
Designed for diners who want more control over what goes into their meals, Greens & Grains includes both customisable grain bowls and warm soup bowls. Diners can also use Da Paolo Gastronomia’s online nutrition calculator to check calories and macronutrients before ordering.
Build Your Own Greens & Grains Bowl From $15.90

The Greens & Grains concept is built around meals prepared from scratch using fresh produce, proteins and grains.
According to Da Paolo Gastronomia, ingredients are kept relatively simple, with extra virgin olive oil, sea salt, cracked black pepper and fresh herbs used to season the food.
For the grain bowls, there are two main options.
The Balanced Bowl ($15.90) comes with two grains or bases, one protein, two vegetables and one dollop of dressing or accompaniment.
Those looking for more protein can opt for the Protein Plus Bowl ($19) instead.
The customisable format means diners can put together a combination that better suits their appetite or nutritional preferences rather than ordering a fixed bowl.
Choose From Cauliflower Rice, Quinoa, Chicken, Salmon & More

There is a varied selection of bases to start with, including Cauliflower Rice and Multigrain & Seeds.
Other choices include Quinoa & Kale Salad (+$1), Fresh Mesclun Salad and Summer Barley Salad (+$1).
Protein options cover both meat, seafood and vegetarian choices.
Diners can pick Sous Vide Chicken Breast, or add a supplement for selected proteins such as Moroccan Chicken Thigh (+$2.50), Sous Vide Salmon (+$3.50) and Sautéed Prawns (+$2.50).
Plant-based and meat-free options include Soy Tempeh Steak with Arrabbiata and Spinach & Leek Frittata.
Complete the meal with a selection of vegetables before adding finishing touches such as Chickpea Hummus or Spicy Tomato Salsa.
For diners keeping an eye on calories, protein or other macronutrients, Da Paolo Gastronomia also provides an online nutrition calculator, allowing different combinations to be checked before ordering.
There Are Warm, Customisable Soup Bowls Too

Not in the mood for another salad or grain bowl? Greens & Grains also includes house-made soup bowls for those who prefer something warm.
The soups are prepared fresh daily and slowly simmered using seasonal vegetables and legumes. According to the brand, they are made without cream, butter or artificial thickeners.
The Plant-Based Soup Bowl ($14.90) comes with one soup and two vegetables.
For something more filling, the Protein Boost Soup Bowl ($17.90) includes one soup, one protein and two vegetables.
Soup flavours include familiar options such as Pumpkin and Tomato, along with Broccoli (+$1.50) and Mushroom (+$1.50).
Add Roasted Vegetables & Toast To Your Soup
Soup bowls can be customised with vegetable toppings including Roasted Turmeric Cauliflower, Roasted Carrots with Toasted Dukkah, Poached Broccoli, Grilled Zucchini and Roasted Pumpkin.
Those who enjoy mushrooms can add Sautéed Fresh Mushrooms (+$2.50).
For extra carbs on the side, diners can pair their soup with Homemade Sourdough Toast (+$2) or Garlic Ciabatta Toast (+$2).
This makes the soup format particularly useful for diners who want a warm lunch while still being able to choose their own vegetables and protein.

Pro Tip
If you are choosing your meal based on calories or protein intake, use Da Paolo Gastronomia’s online nutrition calculator before placing your order. You can compare different bases and proteins first instead of trying to work out the nutritional values after building your bowl.
