Bak chor mee in a silky rice roll and laksa served with butterfly pea dumplings might not be the most conventional dim sum order, but that is exactly what diners can expect from Tim Ho Wan this National Day.
The Hong Kong dim sum restaurant is launching its limited-time Flavours of Singapore menu, featuring dishes inspired by familiar local favourites such as bak chor mee, nonya laksa and orh nee.
The menu will be available from 21 July to 31 August 2026 at participating Tim Ho Wan outlets across Singapore.
A new Baked Black Pepper Roasted Duck Bun will also join the restaurant’s Signature Baked Bun Series from 14 July 2026 for a limited period.
Bak chor mee meets Hong Kong-style cheong fun
One of the menu’s most recognisably local creations is the ‘Bak Chor’ Rice Rolls ($9.50).
The dish replaces bak chor mee’s usual noodles with smooth Hong Kong-style cheong fun. It is dressed with black vinegar and house-made chilli sauce, before being topped with minced pork, braised mushrooms and crispy pork lard.
The ingredients retain several of the flavours and textures associated with a traditional bowl of bak chor mee, while presenting them in a dim sum format.
Butterfly pea dumplings served in laksa broth
The Laksa Seafood Dumplings ($7.90 for three pieces) combine seafood dumplings with a rich Singapore-style laksa broth.
Each dumpling contains shrimp and scallops wrapped in a blue butterfly pea-infused skin. The dumplings are then served with a coconut-based laksa broth made with aromatic spices and rempah.
It is likely to appeal to diners who enjoy laksa but want to try its familiar spicy and creamy flavours in a different form.
Orh nee-inspired sesame balls with molten salted egg
For dessert, Tim Ho Wan has reworked the classic dim sum sesame ball with a Teochew-inspired filling.
The ‘Orh Nee’ Salted Egg Sesame Balls ($7.50 for three pieces) are made with chewy glutinous rice dough coated in sesame seeds.
Inside is a smooth taro paste inspired by orh nee, together with a molten salted egg yolk centre. The savoury salted egg filling is intended to balance the sweetness of the yam.
Fried rice with bacon, luncheon meat and XO sauce
Those looking for something more filling can order the XO Fried Rice with Bacon and Luncheon Meat ($13.90).
The rice is wok-fried with Tim Ho Wan’s house-made XO sauce, bacon and luncheon meat. Its combination of savoury meat and seafood-rich XO sauce makes it one of the more substantial items in the National Day collection.
Diners can pair the dishes with the Calamansi Lemongrass Fizz ($5.50), a sparkling drink combining citrusy calamansi with fresh lemongrass.
New roasted duck bun joins Tim Ho Wan’s baked bun range
Launching ahead of the National Day menu is the Baked Black Pepper Roasted Duck Bun ($9.50 for three pieces).
Available from 14 July 2026, the bun features roasted duck coated in black pepper sauce, encased in Tim Ho Wan’s signature sweet and buttery baked crust.
Diners who would like to compare it with the restaurant’s well-known barbecue pork version can order the Baked Buns Duo Delight ($5.90). The set includes one Baked Black Pepper Roasted Duck Bun and one Barbecue Pork Bun.
Both the roasted duck bun and the duo set are limited-time menu additions.
