Ways To Keep Fit Without Having A Gym Membership

While there are several benefits to joining a gym (such as programs and equipment), it is not required for staying in shape. At-home workouts, as well as some terrific methods to sweat outside, are a great way to exercise without having to step foot in a weight room or fitness class.

The possibilities are endless, from equipment-free exercises that utilize only your bodyweight for resistance to high-intensity cardio routines that get your heart racing without using a treadmill.

  • Walking/Running At Your Local Park

Walking and jogging are fantastic methods to work out whether you’re alone or with a companion. Your heart rate is raised, all of your muscles are working, and you can relax and appreciate the calm and quiet that comes with focusing on physical exertion.

Choose a hiking/jogging path with your favourite music playlist on your phone or find a buddy you need to catch up or keep pace with! Heritage paths are also a great opportunity to get some exercise while exploring new places.

  • Use Fitness Corners Near Your Estate

Some of us want a gym that concentrates on exercise and equipment but would prefer to avoid the hassles of memberships, locker rooms, and loud music. In Singapore, there are now over 300 parks, trails, and natural reserves. Thankfully, most town governments, parks, and nature reserves in Singapore have fully equipped workout corners or stations that are entirely free!

The majority of them will include everything you need to work out alone or with others, such as a balancing beam, chest press, leg press, pull-up bars, sit-up bench, and stretch bars, to name a few examples of outdoor fitness equipment. Although they may not be the latest high end models, they will surely give your muscles a good workout too.

  • Take The Stairs Instead

Elevators/escalators are convenient when you need to get to higher story but using the steps whenever feasible will improve your health over time. You may get some exercise by taking the stairs instead of the escalators in the MRT station or shopping mall.

Not only can you avoid the crowd that forms near the start of the escalator, but you can also set the pace and speed in which you overcome and climb the flights of stairs. This is a great way to start incorporating some exercise into your daily life if taking time out to run in the park is too much hassle.

  • Use Basic Fitness Equipment At Home

A wonderful home exercise may be done with light dumbbells, a stability ball, and a jump rope. If you can’t purchase equipment, see if anyone in your family or circle of friends has any that they aren’t using. It’s possible to have a lot of fun with this.

Consider objects around the house that are heavier than a pound yet simple to grip like water bottles or rice sacks for the hardcore exercise addicts. Curls or squats can be done with them as weights. For simpler exercises, try box squats or step ups on your house chairs that can be used to replace exercise equipment.
