The Double | Add This Chinese Drama To Your Watch List

I recently started watching The Double and became completely engrossed in it. Adapted from the web novel “Marriage of the Di Daughter (嫡家千金)” by Qian Shan Cha Ke, though it includes quite a few changes, its popularity in China underscores just how excellent this Chinese drama is.

The cast features Wu Jin Yan, familiar to many from her role in Yan Xi Palace, and Wang Xing Yue, a young actor born in 2002.

The story is set in an ancient era with emperors and follows Xue Fang Fei, who was betrayed by her husband, leading to the massacre of her and her family. Fortunately, she was saved by Jiang Li, who later died trying to protect Xue Fang Fei.

Another reason for the show’s popularity is the love story between Xue Fang Fei and Xiao Heng. Unlike most dramas where the leads fall in love quickly and instantly, their romance is a slow burn.
