Want to get lot of likes on Instagram or just enjoying the view? Bring your camera, friends, family and even your pets to this one of kind greenery at Jurong Lake Garden.
Lakeside Garden is situated in the western section of Singapore’s national gardens in the heartlands. At the heart of the grassland stands a Lone Tree. This is the tree that will get you many likes in social media for those who are looking for an IG-worthy spot for your feed.
Fun fact, the Lone Tree isn’t a real tree! It’s made from recycled iron parts giving the tree a nice deep brown colour. This is a huge contrast when used as a backdrop amongst the other trees and grassland. Popular amongst the west-siders, the Lone Tree is one of the most photographed spots in the garden.
Bring your doggy to the Dog Run where there is a fence field and a quite huge one at 2,220 sqm in size. Let man’s best friend go nuts running and socializing with other dogs. The field also has grass mounds allowing the dogs to have a nice workout while playing as well.
For those who prefer a chill and relaxing day out, enjoy a quiet stroll on Rasau Walk by the Freshwater Swamp. Spanning a 300m long that lets you take a closer look at the plant life, it’s also a great place for an evening stroll as the sides of the walkway is lighted up and illuminates the pathway.
It being one of Singapore’s national gardens, there are of course places for your children to play and enjoy themselves at the huge Forest Ramble Playground! Trampolines, swings, ziplines, slides and more! Let your inner kid or children out and play to your heart’s content. Do note that the playground is closed on Mondays to keep the playground equipment well maintained.
Overall, this is a must visit at least once as it’s quite the experience walking around Jurong Lake Garden with my dog. It’s very therapeutic to have some quiet time while enjoying the view but of course, that might just be for me but I still recommend visiting to discover this place for yourself with friends and family.
