With new play kits that you can do-it-yourself (DIY) on the menu, Ohayo Mama San stays true to their promise of trendy and out-of-the-ordinary dining experiences with delicious sets that you can now assemble according to your preference.
Dive in and make your own negitoro rolls with the new Negitoro & Salmon Tartare Play Kit ($48). Served with seasoned fatty tuna and salmon belly, add marinated sushi rice with Japanese furikake to your nori seaweed and roll up your sushi just the way you want it.
Things you can add on or customize on the side includes tempura bits, ikura, spring onion and mentai sauce. For an additional $25, you may also add 12.5grams of uni (sea urchin) into the mix to finish off your negitoro rolls with a luxurious touch.
For something more fuss-free, the Signature Mamasan Kyuden ($24) is a sight to behold. The dish comes with an assortment of sushi rolls that include 2 pieces of salmon belly with spicy sauce sushi and 2 pieces of salmon with mentai sauce as well as a mixture of shrimp tempura, cucumber, baked eel, avocado and eel sauce sushi.
Displayed and served in a wooden tower, ordering this is similar to having a high tea session with your loved ones as you while your day away and catch up with a few drinks in hand.
Drink pairings include the Vampire Daiquiri ($22), which mixes fine white rum, strawberry juice and lemonade that is served in a rounded glass goblet topped with mixed berries infused smoke and bubbles.
There’s also the classy Mama San G&T ($22), a smoky delight of Roku Gin, yuzu and lemon juice, finished off with sparkling water, shiso pepper and fruit infused smoke and bubbles that is pretty on the eyes and great for quenching your thirst.
Revamping their old favourites, the Salmon Obsession Platter ($68 for 2-4 pax), is a collation of 10 types of salmon creations where salmon lovers can try different preparation methods of their favourite fish.
For good old seafood, the Around-The-World Seafood Platter ($98 for 2-4 pax) comes with a medley of fresh seafood that is airflown in from around the world. Have them on their own or with unique dipping sauces of chef’s tartar, signature shoyu and spicy yuzu lemon sauce.
For those that loved the classics on the old menu, you will be thrilled to know that The Nori Tacos ($18-$20 for four) are here to stay. Served with a filling of your choice (tuna, salmon, kani) in crispy seaweed taco shells, this dish is a popular bestseller that is indulgent and creamy.
There is also the Chicken Kebab ($18) and Fish Kebab ($20) that serves up grilled juicy cubes of chicken and fish with a special spice blend. The chicken comes with a side of fries while the fish is served with baked sweet potato.
For the carb-conscious, Riceless Sushi Rolls are also available. There are four options which includes the Mamasan Riceless Roll ($24) that comes with prime fish cuts of tuna, salmon and Hamachi while the Naked Roll ($24) layers salmon with shrimp tempura.
Another option is the Forbidden Love ($24) which features salmon, kani stick and tempura bits while the Dancing Geisha ($24) tempts with salmon, tuna and boiled shrimp.
