In commemoration of its 2nd anniversary, Last Word has introduced a new menu showcasing an enticing array of cocktails spanning across five eras and introducing a fresh culinary concept to their cocktail haven.
Capturing the essence of Last Word, the bar named after the forgotten classic cocktail is not merely a bar but an experience. Spanning five distinct eras, each section offers a glimpse into the evolution of mixology.
In The Golden Age, guests can transport themselves to the 1830s, where the foundation of mixed drinks was laid. Classic concoctions like the Clover Club ($25), Ramos Gin Fizz, and Old Fashioned take center stage.
During the Prohibition Era, the clandestine allure of the 1920s to 1930s is experienced, when speakeasies thrived on creativity and hidden charm. Immersing guests in the era’s rebellious spirit are cocktails like Barrel Aged Corpse Revival No. 1 and the captivating Bloody Mary ($27).
Rediscovering the vibrant “Years of Indulgence” from the 1980s to the early 2000s, marked by the resurgence of tiki culture, guests can indulge in tropical escapes with concoctions like the Linstead, Paloma, the whimsical Mai Tai and the signature Irish Coffee ($25).
Navigating the disco-infused Dark Ages of cocktails from 1969 to 1989, where simplicity meets glamour, guests can sip on Midori Highball, Grasshopper and the iconic Blue Hawaii ($25), echoing the vivacious spirit of the disco era.
In the Cocktail Revival Era of the late 20th century, where mixology experienced a renaissance, guests can celebrate with meticulously crafted drinks like Trinidad Sour, Penicillin, The Old Cuban and White Negroni ($27).
Complementing the diverse array of cocktails, Last Word is elevating its culinary offerings with an expanded menu featuring dishes inspired by minimalist Japanese recipes.
Try the comforting warmth of Oden ($14) or the Tuna Poke ($20) that presents diced raw tuna mixed with flavourful yuzu kosho lime dressing and sesame crackers.
Another dish to look out for is the Yaki-Onigiri ($15) that despite its unassuming appearance, delivers a delightful combination of crispy grilled rice, tender meat, and wood-ear mushroom stuffing.
Or not, you can savour the unique twist of their Umai Udon ($17), where stir-fried noodles are dressed in a flavourful sauce, offering a departure from the traditional soup-based udon that is just as scrumptious.
These additions reflect Last Word’s commitment to delivering a culinary experience that mirrors the precision and innovation found in its cocktail offerings. For more information, visit https://www.lastword.sg
