From 1 to 8 May 2026, GYG restaurants islandwide will celebrate the occasion with festive decor, family-friendly face painting, dining deals, double GOMEX points, and even a grand prize staycation experience.
This year’s celebration feels extra special as it begins over the long May Day weekend. That means more time to gather the family, enjoy your favourite burritos, bowls, tacos and quesadillas, and soak in the festive mood.
Cinco de Mayo, which means the Fifth of May, commemorates Mexico’s victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. At GYG Singapore, the holiday is being celebrated with plenty of food, colour and fun.
What’s Happening From 1 To 8 May 2026
The celebration kicks off on 1 May, with GYG restaurants across Singapore dressed in Cinco de Mayo decor.
Guests can look forward to a week of flavourful favourites from GYG’s 100% Clean menu, made with no added preservatives, no artificial flavours, no added colours, and no unacceptable additives.
There will also be double GOMEX points on 5 May, plus a chance for one lucky member to win the first-ever GOMEX Grand Escape giveaway.
Family Face Painting On 2 And 3 May
Families can start the weekend with GYG’s annual Cinco de Mayo face-painting activity.
This year, the activity will take place across two days at selected restaurants.
Face painting will be available on 2 and 3 May at:
i12 Katong, Dunearn Village, Orchard Gateway, and The Star Vista.
It will also be available on 3 May only at:
ION Orchard, Northpoint, Funan Mall, Jewel Changi Airport, and Pasir Ris Mall.
It is a great little treat for kids and a fun way to add more colour to the long weekend.
Kids Dine Free Every Sunday
Families visiting on Sunday can also enjoy GYG’s Kids Dine Free offer.
With every purchase of two à la carte Regular Mains, families can receive two Kids’ Meals for free. This promotion is available exclusively through the GYG App from 10.30am onwards and is valid for children aged 12 and below.
Whether your family loves burritos, tacos, quesadillas or bowls, it is a handy deal for a casual weekend meal.
Cinco de Mayo Deals On 5 May 2026
The main celebration happens on Tuesday, 5 May 2026, with several special deals for the day.
From 8am to 10.30am, guests can enjoy $2 Brekkie Burritos at 18 GYG Brekkie restaurants. Participating outlets include Rail Mall, Dunearn Village, Northpoint, Vivocity, Velocity @ Novena Square, and Great World.
From 5pm onwards, GYG will offer $8 Burritos and Bowls. This makes it a great option for dinner, a casual date night, or a post-workout meal.
GOMEX members will also receive double GOMEX points all day on 5 May.
Win A GOMEX Grand Escape
For the first time, GYG is giving one lucky GOMEX member the chance to win a GOMEX Grand Escape prize worth over $600.
To qualify, members simply need to make a transaction at any GYG restaurant on 5 May 2026.
