The “Goddess: Brave, Bold, Beautiful” exhibition at the ArtScience Museum promises a journey through the captivating world of cinema, spotlighting influential actresses who have left an indelible mark on the global screen.

From the iconic performances of Michelle Yeoh and Zhang Ziyi to the timeless elegance of Gong Li and the trailblazing legacy of Anna May Wong, the exhibition celebrates the diverse talents and contributions of these luminaries.

As visitors step into the exhibition space, they will be greeted by different zones of behind-the-scenes photographs, immersive projections, and authentic costumes serving as windows into the captivating narratives and characters brought to life on screen.

More than a mere display of cinematic artistry, “Goddess” aims to foster a sense of empowerment and confidence among its diverse audience, inviting them to connect with the bravery, boldness, and beauty inherent in each portrayal.

“In Her Words” pays homage to screen icons who have championed the cause of female representation, advocating for women to be heard and valued for their intrinsic worth rather than superficial appearances.

From the enigmatic allure of French actress Lea Seymour to the transformative performances of Hollywood luminaries like Nicole Kidman and Viola Davis, these women have defied industry expectations and reshaped the landscape of cinema with their powerful voices.

“Crafting the Ideal” delves into the complex interplay between media representation and societal perceptions of beauty. Here, visitors are invited to ponder the ways in which the female form has been idealized, politicized, and exoticized by mass media, often leading to unrealistic and harmful standards.

Through the lens of iconic figures such as Marilyn Monroe, Meena Kumari, and Joan Chen, the exhibition sheds light on the resilience and resilience of women who have challenged prevailing stereotypes and paved the way for greater inclusivity and acceptance.

“Cut from the Same Cloth” offers a fascinating glimpse into the evolution of Malay cinema, showcasing three trailblazing icons—Salome, Maria Menado, and K. Fatimah—who defied conventional gender norms and empowered women through their groundbreaking portrayals.

Their characters served as catalysts for social change, signaling the shifting socio-cultural values of their time and inspiring future generations to embrace diversity and equality.

At the heart of the “Walk Out with a Goddess” exhibit, visitors are invited to stroll alongside a pantheon of screen goddesses and icons. Additional zones, including “Breaking the Binary“, “Dangerous Women”, “Weaponizing Glamour” and “Fighting Back” offer deeper insights into the myriad challenges and triumphs faced by women in the film industry, inviting visitors to reflect on the enduring power of resilience and determination.
