Everyone has been talking about Money Heist since its first season streamed May 2nd, 2017. My friends were telling me how good the series was and that it was worth the watch. They were tweeting about it too.
It now has four seasons and a total of 38 episodes, all available on Netflix. Without spoiling the show too much (I hope), the series kicks off as Sergio Marquina (The Professor) recruits a young female robber and seven other criminals as he plans the greatest heist, targeting the Royal Mint of Spain.
Season 1 (Part 1 and 2)
Throughout season 1, consisting of both parts 1 and 2, the team plans their grand heist of the Royal Mint of Spain. However, they encounter several difficulties along the way. Identities were closed to being uncovered, conflicts occurred between the team members and more.
Fortunately, they were able to the escape the Mint with a total of $984 million euros (That is approximately SGD$1.5 billion!). A year after the heist, a series of postcards left by The Professor were discovered, with written coordinates for a location in the Philippines, where a certain pairing on the show will reunite.
Season 2 (Part 3 and 4)
Season 2 kick starts three years after the grand heist, showing each of the team members living their lives is different locations. However, one of the members was captured and thus, the professor picks up old plans to assault the Bank of Spain. He then got the team back together and enlisted the help of three new members.
The season continues with part 4 as more were captured and the team goes on trying to save one another. However, armed forces are eyeing on them, to the point where the professor was held at gunpoint. Many of the beloved characters on the show may or may not have (erhem) died but you will have to watch it for yourself to find out. Along with many cliffhangers that will keep you on the edge of your seat, this show will definitely draw you in.
Final Season (Part 5)
The announcement of Part 5 was made on June 3rd. This is also the final part of the series, separated into two volumes, releasing in September and December, respectively.
Part 5 will pick up from the final scene of part 4 and since it is the final season, what will happen to the team? Will they survive or will they get caught and live their lives in prison? Not much has been released as the trailer only show snippets of the characters holding guns and hiding from armed forces.
Apart from that, the trailer ends with the team sticking together in the Bank of Spain, pointing guns in all directions while chaos takes over.
I cannot wait to see how the series would end. This series might just be the greatest series released on Netflix. I am excited for it to finally be released for viewing on the streaming platform. Share this with your friends and family and mark your calendars so that you will not miss the release of the final part of the series.
