Homegrown bakery, Elijah Pies, reveals a one-of-a-kind experience nestled in Tanjong Pagar, marking the brand’s first foray into the dining scene since its inception in 2014 as a takeaway shop cum baking studio.
Revamping the customer experience, the bakery is conceptualised to replicate the comforts of a home and is purposefully designed to house a total of 20 seats at 5 dedicated areas — the porch, living room, dining table, fireplace and daybed.
The interior is carefully created to feel like a home by making comfortable spots for customers to enjoy some pies and conversations.
“It’s like a second home, not a cafe,” quips Elijah, co-founder of Elijah Pies.
At the heart of Elijah Pies’ new homeground is the 4-metre long island table at the open kitchen, where Elijah and his team of bakers will personally serve a curated menu of pies handcrafted in comforting and familiar flavours, including the bestselling Nutella Pie, as well as, new creations like the Warm Apple Pie and Mac N’ Cheese Pie.
Mac N’ Cheese Pie – Each round is topped with shredded cheese and onion crumble. Embedded within is a creamy, house-made mac and cheese filling with beef salami and chives.
Nutella Pie – An all-time favourite, this pie is the perfect indulgence that highlights the marriage between luscious dark chocolate and roasted hazelnuts in every bite. Best enjoyed chilled.
Completing the multi-sensory experience is an accompanying selection of drinks concocted with baking techniques, like Vanilla Pistachio blended with real nut butter and Grapefruit Elderflower soda with housemade jam adorned with organic flowers farmed locally.
Vanilla Pistachio – Part of the nutty creation, this sweet and creamy drink is topped with vanilla cold foam.
Besides showcasing the art of pastry-making, the space celebrates craftsmanship and creativity of the community with a culmination of features born out of meaningful collaborations with local artisans. These include botanical landscape design by This Humid House (@thishumidhouse), custom furniture by stonemason Eloise (@eloisethebrand), commissioned acrylic painting by Zian (@reprezian), and menu illustrations by Diana (@thewildabandon).
