Jing Si Books and Café, which means to reflect in solitude was founded by the Buddhist organization Tzu Chi Singapore. The café was designed as a respite from the fast pace of modern city life.

For those who are interested in the Chinese Language, Grassroots Bookstore is an independent Chinese bookstore and publishing house in Singapore. Founded in 1995 it consists and retains the original Chinese and foreign history, Chinese and Western philosophy, art, film, drama, Chinese modern literature, Western and Japanese translation literature and other categories.
