KFC Singapore Launches First-Ever La Zi Ji Mala Chicken for CNY 2026, Plus Huat Paws Blind Boxes & $888 Prizes

Fire Up Your Taste Buds This CNY With KFC’s First-Ever La Zi Ji (Sichuan Mala Chicken) In Singapore

KFC is turning up the heat for Chinese New Year 2026 with a brand-new, mala-packed launch: its first-ever La Zi Ji 辣子鸡 (Sichuan Mala Chicken). If you love that tongue-tingling “ma la” buzz, this one’s made for you.

And because it’s CNY season, KFC is going full festive mode with a new “HUAT ritual”, plus cute collectibles like Huat Paws Fortune Cat blind boxes—including a secret Gold Fortune Cat that could score you $888.

Here’s everything to know before you head down.

What’s new and interesting

This is KFC Singapore’s first La Zi Ji-inspired menu, reimagined in two formats:

  • La Zi Ji Crunch (on-the-bone chicken for that full bite)

  • La Zi Ji Bites (snackable, pop-and-crunch pieces)

Think: crispy chicken hit with a bold trio of dried chilli, chilli oil, and numbing peppercorns for that signature Sichuan kick.

New dishes to try

1) La Zi Ji Crunch (on the bone)

La Zi Ji is usually served as small battered pieces buried in chillies—but KFC’s version switches it up with a full chicken part on the bone, so you get big crunch + big flavour in every bite.

It starts with crisp heat, then builds into that addictive peppercorn tingle that keeps you reaching for “just one more piece.”

2) La Zi Ji Bites (bite-sized mala bomb)

These are made for sharing (or not). Each morsel is fried till shatter-crisp, then tossed in chilli oil, peppercorns, and spices—basically snack fireworks.

3) Mala Lotus Root Chips (first-ever at KFC)

A crunchy side that’s easy to stock up on. Bonus: they’re also perfect as a handbag snack for visits and gatherings.

4) Mango Pomelo Sago Pie

CNY vibes, but make it dessert. This pie pairs zesty pomelo with sweet mango sago in a golden crust—light, fruity, and easy to down after a spicy meal.

Buckets and feasts for sharing

Bucket of Abundance

If you’re going big, look out for the La Zi Ji Crunch Bucket, served with a festive Bucket of Abundance sleeve designed like a traditional bucket of gold coins.

For groups

  • La Zi Ji Crunch Feast (ideal for 4): includes La Zi Ji Crunch, La Zi Ji Bites, tenders, sides, and drinks

  • Prefer no mala? There’s also the HUAT Feast with Original Recipe or Hot & Crispy chicken and classic sides.
