Lo Hey HK Seafood has arrived in One Holland Village, offering a delightful fusion of fresh seafood and nostalgic charm. This new dining spot captures the spirit of old Hong Kong’s iconic seafood restaurants while paying homage to the golden age of Hong Kong cinema from the 1980s and 1990s.
Stepping into Lo Hey feels like entering a movie set. Neon lights, jade tiles and live seafood tanks evoke the bustling streets and vibrant nightlife of Hong Kong’s cinematic heyday. Plus, private dining rooms are available for booking with a minimum spending of $500 onwards.
Diners can also enjoy a pet-friendly alfresco area, making Lo Hey one of the first Chinese restaurants at One Holland V to welcome four-legged companions.
Adding to the ambience, retro movie posters of stars like Chow Yun Fat, Jackie Chan and Ekin Cheng line the walls, while classic handwritten menus and plush red chairs complete the immersive atmosphere.
Not to be missed are Lo Hey’s culinary highlights that includes their LO HEY Tossed Chicken Salad ($22.80), a Shunde-inspired dish featuring tender poached chicken with a tangy vinaigrette, crisp vegetables and a crunch from deep-fried taro that you can toss year-round for a symbol of good fortune.
Other dishes to look forward to is the Nostalgic Braised Beef Short Ribs ($42.80) that features succulent Australian Black Angus short ribs, slow-braised for over two hours in a tomato and potato broth.
With limited quantities available daily, diners should try their Hami Melon Sea Conch Chicken Soup ($58). This luxurious soup combines Hami melon, sea conch and ginseng, simmered for eight hours to deliver both flavour and health benefits.
Seafood delights include Wok Fried Uni Mayo Prawn Balls ($24.80) that is topped with creamy sea urchin sauce, ‘Typhoon Shelter’ Style Stir Fried Crab (from $9.80/100g) and Steamed Fish with Pickled Chili & Kiam Chye (from $10/100g) for a spicy tang.
Other must-tries include the Traditional Soya Sauce Duck (Half $30, Whole $58), Sauteed Watercress with Dried Shrimps ($16.80) and the Homemade Almond Paste with Sweet Potato ($6.80) for dessert.
