What is the FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup?

The FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup is an intense 10 minute 3×3 Basketball competition. 3×3 basketball was first introduced at the 2010 Youth Olympics in Singapore and has gained traction since.

The FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup involves players from different countries representing their nation, striving to finish as champions. With over 4,000 fans watching last year’s tournament on-site, the 2022 edition saw a remarkable record of 51 teams from 29 countries, where the China women’s team and Australia men’s team came out as champions.

With Singapore continuing to host the FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup for another 3 editions, it “will allow us to build an even greater and more engaged community of fans in Singapore and solidify the FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup as one of the highlights of the 3×3 season.”, FIBA Secretary General Andreas Zagklis mentioned.

The 2023 FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup’s champions will even be able to earn a place in one of the qualifying tournaments for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

With the successful 2022 FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup edition, the 2023 edition will be even more exciting as it “promises to be a pulsating live and digital spectator experience” said Marcus Tan, Chief, Sport Development Group.
