Known for their springy noodles tossed in their secret sauce, Kok Kee has been serving up delicious plates and bowls of wonton noodles since 1985. Adding on to their repertoire, Kok Kee has introduced a new Hor Fun series that is currently exclusively available at their flagship outlet, 30 Foch Road.
Just like their wonton noodles, the Hor Fun dishes are prepared in the same way with handmade wontons, sweet savoury Char Siew and blanched vegetables. Here are some of the new dishes that you can look forward to when you visit.
The Dry Wonton Hor Fun ($5) offers up decent cuts of char siew alongside silky smooth Hor Fun noodles that still retain their springiness and would not turn to mush when you grab them with chopsticks.
Another option is their Dry Dumpling Hor Fun ($5) which comes with well marinated dumpling meat that is flavourful on its own. Pair it with the secret sauce that is generously poured over all their dishes that will have you polishing up the plate and asking for seconds.
Great for sharing if you head down with a few friends, get the Crispy Fried Wontons (11pcs; $7) that have a decent amount of meat that is not just crispy flour and goes well with their special chilli sauce blend for added depth.
For those who just love Kok Kee’s sauce and wontons, our favourite less carb version to order would be the Dry Wonton (11pcs; $7) that is well balanced with some greens that would make a great meal for smaller stomachs.
Soup options are also available for those who prefer something lighter on the palate with their Soup Wonton Hor Fun ($5) or Soup Dumplings Hor Fun ($5). The clear soup here complements the ingredients well and does not lack in flavour.
Acknowledged as “One of the Best Wonton Noodles in Singapore” by many, visit their Foch Road outlet to try their “Hor Jiak” Hor Fun series or pay one of their nine outlets a visit that have gained the loyalty of many Singaporeans.
