There are times in life where we are not at our best. I am pretty sure many of us have experienced this. All we want to do is curl up in bed and let our emotions take control. But that is okay as long as we keep a positive mindset and keep going at the end of the day.
We are too caught up with the things happening around us that we tend to neglect ourselves and that is pretty dangerous. Thus, here are some self-care tips to help you get back up on your feet and work on self-improvement.
Plan Your Time Wisely
This is probably one of the best ways to keep up with your daily activities and set aside time for yourself. It is something like a to-do list but a little more specific. You can also get creative with this process.
Jot down the things you want to do for the day, include the time and duration of each activity and keep track of it. Apart from just writing down the activities, add a section for self-reflection. This is a great way for you to keep track of your emotions and work on the things you are lacking.
This can be in a form of a bullet journal or just simply jotting them down in your phone, whichever is convenient for you. I have personally done this, and it has truly helped me prioritise myself and focusing on the more important things in life.
Keep Yourself Occupied
There is surely that one thing that each of us love doing. We all have different hobbies. This comes in handy especially when you have nothing to do. As for me, I love crafting and anything else that has to do with the arts.
If things ever get too tense and I start losing myself, I turn my attention towards the things I love doing. I would play some of my favourite songs and dance it out. Apart from dancing, I would sing my heart out to some of my favourite songs.
Find something that makes you happy or maybe something that is uniquely you. It could be as simple as meditation or just talking a walk. Have some time finding yourself through the things you find joy in.
Take A Break From Social Media
Social media is taking over the world (if you haven’t noticed). We are too engrossed in social media, and we tend to believe almost anything we see. Though it is a great platform to keep in touch with our friends and the things happening around us, some of the things we see may hurt and are a little too sensitive.
Try and take a short break from social media for a bit and step outside. Go for a solo-walk or cycle around your neighbourhood. Admire the beauty of nature and this may also be a good chance to reflect on yourself and your emotions.
Eat Healthy and Plan A Self-Care Routine
The final self-care tip and best way to be a better version of yourself is to stay healthy. Health is wealth and we call agree on that. Start planning your meals and stick to a healthy diet. It is pretty difficult at first, but it is definitely worth it.

After all the things that has brough you down, it is time to show others that you are still standing strong and not giving up. As a lady, a ‘glo-up’ means being able to prioritise myself and focusing on myself.
Plan a skincare routine and stick to it. Head out and grab skincare products and some of the best scented perfumes out there. Dress yourself up and feel empowered. I honestly think that this is probably the best way to show that you are capable of so much more and you are not backing down.
Self-care is the best care you could possibly do for yourself. It helps you understand yourself better, inside and out. Always remember that you are all you need, and it is important that you take care of yourself. All you have to do is have a positive mindset and keep going.
