Do you want to watch the finest bingeworthy programs right now? With the sheer variety of original and licensed material available on the streaming platforms these days, it may be tough to figure out what’s worth viewing. I’ll be listing 4 of my personal favourite binge-worthy shows to watch! Do note that everything that I’ll be listing is my own personal opinion!
Starting with sci-fi with a little bit of time travel. Travelers is a television drama in which characters from the future occupy the bodies of people who have just died in order to avoid the end of life on Earth. The series deals with a variety of ethical dilemmas, and they do an excellent job at balancing subtleties. The narrative follows a logical course without being unduly predictable, and the characters are all maturing into really intriguing people. Travelers can be found on Netflix.
It may seems fidgety in the beginning but once you get used to it, it becomes a intelligent and hilarious show. Although it may look very cartoonish Rick & Morty is not something children should watch. It’s one of the few cartoons that maintains a high level of continuity from episode to episode, with characters that grow and evolve. Something that happens in a prior episode “has happened” and isn’t “forgotten” when the typical cartoon reset button is pressed.
Don’t worry if all of this philosophical jargon bores you. The conversation in the program is some of the greatest I’ve ever heard. It’s razor-sharp and to-the-point. It may be so subtle that I have to pause an episode and rewatch a sequence many times to fully get what’s being stated. Small details are put into situations that you will overlook unless someone informs you about that tiny feature on a wall or a character’s piece of clothing. It’s just that profound. Rick & Morty can be found on Netflix.
Perhaps the best sitcom so far. The Office is a cringe comedy that is shot in a mockumentary (documentary) manner. It essentially follows the lives of nine to five employees in a fictional paper firm named Dunder Mifflin in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Each character is a one-of-a-kind individual. The setting, the conditions, and the events are all fairly standard. Nonetheless, they are so relevant and fascinating that you can’t help but cry or laugh each time. The Office can be found on Prime Videos.
Walter White, a geeky high school chemistry teacher stationed in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is the protagonist of the story. Walt finds himself in financial danger after learning of certain disasters in his life, generating tension in his family and leaving them wondering how they can make ends meet. As things go, Walt finds himself collaborating with a former pupil, Jesse Pinkman, to manufacture methamphetamine (meth) to feed his family.
Walt and Jesse strive throughout the show to manufacture the “purest” type of meth that anybody has ever seen. Because of their cleanliness, the unusual combination is in high demand, from the Mexican cartel to Walt’s brother-in-law, who is a narcotics task force officer. As the seasons pass, Walt and Jesse attempt to establish themselves as strong figures in the drug world while keeping their truths hidden from their families. It’s constant thrill in each episode makes it very enjoyable to watch. Breaking Bad can be found on Netflix.
