Known for their Yunnan ethnic highland cuisines that have won the hearts of many Singaporeans for their Chinese cuisine, YUN NANS is now all set to bring in another popular concept – YUN NANS Stonepot Fish to Singapore at Northpoint City in Yishun.

The stonepot fish concept at this restaurant specializes in cooking live fishes using high pressure steam à la minute in front of customers in a stone pot made of natural granite, resulting in a hearty pot of fresh, naturally sweet, and collagen-rich fish soup.

Imported from Yunnan, each granite stone pot is specially handcrafted for YUN NANS and is in built into every table. Not only does it heat the food evenly, but it also retains heat well. The stone pot is then covered with a handcrafted straw hat that doubles as the pot’s lid while keeping in the steam at a controlled temperature of 160 degrees.

The fish and broth are then subjected to a unique high pressure steaming method that helps extract the most natural flavours of the fish while retaining its tenderness. Steamed right in front of customers to preserve the freshness of the fish, all it takes is 4 – 6 minutes to present the perfectly cooked fish soup that is rich in flavour, nutrition, and beautifying collagen.

Choose from choices of seabass, patin or soon hock with prices of the fish starting from $28 where each catch is caught live, fresh and sweet before they are cooked in the soup base of choice for a collagen-rich broth.

With two signature two bases to choose from, the signature Collagen Fish Soup ($18++) is a thick and milky soup that is sweet, nutritious and goes well with fresh fish or opt for the Wild Mushroom Soup ($18++) for earthy goodness that is made with Yunnan’s Shangri-La Matsutake mushrooms and gently brewed for three hours.

Assorted Seafood Platter.

If you aren’t keen on live fish, you will be glad to know that fresh fish is available as well alongside a variety of other hotpot ingredients. Get the Assorted Seafood Platter that comes with scallops, prawns, fish slices and crabstick to share or opt for ala carte items to suit any tastebuds.

Assorted Vegetable Platter

Meat lovers can enjoy premium cuts of meat like beef, lamb, pork and handmade beef balls or get the Assorted Vegetable Platter with ingredients like lotus root, spinach and Lijiang purple heart potatoes that are a specialty of Yunnan.

Apart from the signature stonepot fish, the restaurant will serve signature hot favourites from YUN NANS such as Braised Wild Porcini Mushroom, Crispy Duck with Dried Chillies and Stir-Fried Spicy Clams.

Grilled Clams with Spicy Garlic Sauce.

Look forward to new items available as well like the Crispy Barramundi Collar ($9.80++), that is lightly-fried and marinated and served with a salt and pepper dip or the Grilled Clams with Spicy Garlic Sauce ($12.90++) that pays homage to the quintessential Yunnan style of cooking, where all vermicelli and fresh clams are placed in an aluminum foil box and grilled over charcoal fire.

Fragrant Scallion Rice

A perfect complement to the meal would be the Fragrant Scallion Rice ($3++) that consists of dried shrimp, shiitake mushrooms and shallots. With a light fragrance and taste of lotus leaf rice, we polished off the bowl and would definitely recommend a second serving.

YUN NANS Stonepot Fish calls a haven of stone and clouds its home, dressed in earthy tones and emerald hues. Its interior design borrows elements from the Baishui Terrace, which steps are replicated in the feature wall at the front of the restaurant. The floor tiles are also in various shades of emerald reminiscent of the water in the terraces.

Warm light-tone wood furniture opens up the space further alongside organic shapes, curves and lines that match and create a home-ly ambience that is cosy and great for a family gathering.

Grand Opening Promotion

To mark the grand opening of this first-of-its-kind YUN NANS Stonepot Fish concept, it is offering 50% off Stonepot Fish (A choice of live fish & soup base) for three days only from 8-10 November 2022, available only at the Northpoint City outlet.

Opening its doors on 5 November 2022 to the public, make a point to visit and try out their dishes that is great for celebrations and special occasions.
