LEGO® builders and fans rejoice as Singapore Brickfest 2021 at ION Orchard is featuring unique LEGO creations built by both local and international fans. Aiming to inspire the builders of tomorrow, visit the exhibition for an exciting and eye-opening experience at Level 4 of ION Gallery.
Focusing on 2 themes, lego lovers can enjoy “Memories” which focuses on nostalgic builds from the past and “Imagine” which focuses on futuristic elements. Covering themes and ideas ranging from pop culture to traditional Chinese architecture, castles and mythical creatures. This exhibition will definitely capture the attention of the young and old.
The Marketing Director Southeast Asia of the LEGO® Group, Rohan Mathur, mentioned that the LEGO® System in Play has long been the ultimate platform for creative expression and the exhibition will showcase the endless possibilities with LEGO® bricks. Go as far as your mind can take you with builds for the community by the community and inspire Singaporeans of all ages to unleash their creativity and share their incredible builds.
Exhibit Details
At the entrance of the exhibition, fans will be greeted by a massive medieval castle diorama designed and built by Bricks Knight Alliance. Blowing you away with the amount of details, this is an exhibit that you have to see for yourself in person.
For those who grew up watching Gundam, this mecha build by Kelvin Low would definitely interest you with LEGO Mechs that feature monsters and LEGO® MOCs (My Own Creation) or for the architecture fanatics, 3 Generations of Happiness features a traditional Chinese architecture that one can only see in Chinese period dramas.
A further venture inside the gallery space will lead to a discovery of builds by different LEGO® artists featuring a customized monorail project created by Japan’s Masao Hidaka or a towering white structure by Artisan Bricks and many others. Builds by the participants of the Singapore Brickfest “Our Everyday Heroes” build competition will also be featured thus head on down today to view the wonderous builds on display.
Video interviews with some of the builders of Singapore Brickfest will also be featured on Singapore Brickfest Facebook and Instagram (@sgbrickfest). This will enable fans of all ages to get an insider perspective into their favorite builders, what inspires and motivates them and building tips from the experts.
Alongside the exhibition, fans can take part in online workshops by Jeffrey Kong (@artisanbricks), a well-known brick-based artist whose work has been featured in international media including BBC World News, The Straits Times, Channel News Asia and MediaCorp Channel 8.
