Tsuta has introduced a fresh array of delectable treats, including the debut of a new Kaisendon, inspired by Tokyo’s renowned Tsujihan Kaisendon. Just like its Tokyo counterpart, Tsuta’s Tsujihan Don ($21.80) showcases eight exquisite seafood and sashimi varieties heaped on a bed of fluffy Japanese rice.
This dish is designed to be enjoyed in two stages – initially with a touch of soy sauce, savoring the seafood’s natural flavours, and later enhanced with a piping hot fish broth once you’ve reached the halfway point, transforming it into a comforting soupy rice bowl.
The Tsujihan Don derives its exquisite oceanic sweetness from a medley of ingredients, including salmon, tuna, hotate scallops, negitoro minced tuna, kani crab meat, tamago Japanese omelette, and diced avocado before being finished off with a zesty wasabi ponzu sauce and tobiko flying fish roe.
This exciting addition is accompanied by Tsuta’s new offerings: Ebi Soba, Vegetarian Soba, Nama Maki, and Rice Tacos.
Tsuta’s Ebi Soba comes in three variations, catering to diverse palates seeking premium indulgence, the classic Ebi Soba ($14.80) experience, or the Ebi Soba Light ($12.80) option.
When in doubt, the Premium Ebi Soba ($18.80) boasts a rich broth infused with premium Kurobuta pork loin and Iberico belly, complemented by Kuruma ebi wontons and a whole Tiger prawn, all garnished with fresh corn and spring onion.
Tsuta also presents the Vegetarian Soba ($18.80), served in a rich, earthy mushroom stock simmered meticulously for 90 minutes and infused with over 10 types of vegetables.
Miso paste is added and boiled to enhance the umami flavor and includes plant-based minced meat, fried leek, fried lotus root chips, and grilled tomatoes, providing a completely meatless and delightful experience.
Nami Makis tempt as authentic open-faced seaweed rice rolls, reminiscent of those found in Japan.
Options include Negitoro Nami Maki ($4.80) with tender minced tuna, Ebi Fry Nami Maki ($4.80) featuring juicy prawns deep-fried to golden perfection, Kani Nami Maki ($6.80) highlighting sweet crab sticks, and Salmon Nami Maki ($6.80) showcasing sweet salmon.
Don’t miss the Avocado Ebi Nami Maki ($7.80) with buttery avocado or the Spicy Salmon Nami Maki ($7.80) for a flavourful salmon roll with a hint of spiciness.
For those craving maximum crunch and satisfaction, the Rice Paper Tacos are an ideal choice. Available in two flavors, these tacos are wrapped in delicate rice paper for a light yet flavorful snack.
The Mentai Salmon ($7.80) features cubes of mentai salmon with a generous sprinkling of black sesame, while the Avocado Ebi ($6.80) offers an ebi salad with avocados, also finished with black sesame.
Complete your dining experience with a variety of equally delightful side dishes, including Gyoza, Salmon Carpaccio ($18.80), and an array of salads that hold their own.
To complete your meal, Tsuta offers a selection of beverages, such as the signature wheat tea and a range of cold brew teas alongside multiple beer options.
