With the upcoming mid-autumn celebrations, Toa Payoh East Community Club has prepared their first major post-covid event with a Mid-Autumn Carnival that aims to bring everyone together and to form closer bonds under the shine of the full moon on 10 September, Saturday 2022 from 7.00pm to 9.30pm.
Bring your family and friends down to enjoy and soak up the festive mood with carnival games, popcorns, ice cream and more! Test your motor skills as you try your hand to score points on the Bottle Hula Hoop, Picking Marbles with chopsticks or aim to close the Wire Loop Game without the buzzer ringing.
Put your mettle to the test on Pitch Pot as you throw sticks from a set distance into a large box or Knock Down Cans to win yourself some prizes to bring home after the event. With multiple games that cater to the young and old, the event aims to bring back the sense of nostalgia while creating new memories and bonds for the family.
Look forward to other highlights that include a lantern procession that hopes for everyone to light up their hopes, dreams and aspirations for a brighter future ahead while participating in the walk around the Toa Payoh estate. Afterwards, give your legs a rest as you are ushered to your seats for a tea brewing session under the moon and stars should the weather permit.
Attempting to be part of the Singapore Book of Records for the most number of people brewing blooming tea, Toa Payoh East Community Club will be playing host to 500 attendees that will participate in this joint tea brewing session co-organized by Pek Sin Choon, one of the oldest tea merchants in Singapore.
The best place to admire the moon is in a garden surrounded by blossoming flowers. Bringing the flowers to the event, blooming flower tea will be prepared while savouring mooncakes with family and friends as we achieve a new record together as one.
Watch and be charmed by the visual and olfactory experience as you witness the tea blooming upon brewing. Participants will also get to bring home an extra set of tea, to carry forward the kampong spirit and share their experience with their loved ones who are unable to make it for the event.
The Mid-Autumn celebrations is a festival where friends, family and neighbours come together for a long-awaited reunion as the event continues to provide stage performances that will wow the audience with the Art of Face Changing and Gu Zheng performances.
Be lulled by the music and festivities as you review, reflect on all the challenges the year has provided us while catching up all whom you have missed and are missing dearly.
