Most of us were caught off guard by the new Phase 2 (Heightened Alert) regulations. While we will have to postpone some activities, there will still be plenty to do in Singapore on the weekends and throughout the June Holidays as we close up the first half of 2021.

Virtual Zoo Experience

Going out for non-essential activities is discouraged at this period, but there is another option to connect with nature without having to travel to the Mandai Zoo. Hello From The Wild Side returns for a second season starting May 22nd, 2021, with new features. Notably Zoo Explained!, where all your burning curiosity on certain animals will be answered via webinars. Meeting our zoo’s new rhino baby and pets like cats, dogs, and even mice in the Animal Friends show are just a few of the available online options. You and your children will learn about animal behaviour as well as important behind-the-scenes details about our zoo, in addition to being entertained by the cute furballs via Zoom.

Zoom Webinars

  • Animal Care – Baby Rhinoceros (Singapore Zoo) | Date: 12 Jun, Sat 2021 | Time: 10am (GMT+8)
  • Animal Behaviour and Training (Singapore Zoo) | Date: 19 Jun, Sat 2021 | Time: 10am (GMT+8)
  • Emperor Tamarin (River Safari) | Date: 25 Jun, Fri 2021 | Time: 10am (GMT+8)

Changi Chapel And Museum

Changi is home to more than just the airport and Jewel. Changi Chapel & Museum, which reopened recently after completing renovation, provides a portal to recall our wartime years via realistic reproductions of prison conditions, antiques, and multimedia interactive exhibits. Don’t miss the tranquil Chapel, which holds the Changi Cross, which was created by WWII prisoners of war to provide a ray of hope and faith in difficult times. Before you leave, you’ll have the opportunity to purchase books, mugs, and mementos representing the Japanese Occupation. The proceeds will go towards maintaining this vital historical site. Virtual Magic Masterclass And Show

DREAM: A virtual magic experience

Whether it’s virtual concerts or online seminars, there’s no lack of live streaming these days. On the other hand, on June 25, 2021 at 8pm, you may attend Dream, Singapore’s first ever interactive virtual magic experience. The performance will be aired on Zoom and will include award-winning illusionist Kyle Ravin. You may also use this chance to learn a fun new talent by enrolling in a separate master class on the fundamentals of magic and illusion. You’ll also get a free e-book with 40 extra tricks as part of your two-hour apprenticeship, so you can pull a quick one on your pals in real life with your newfound magical skills.

Admission: From $29 onwards (excluding booking fee) | Book Your Tickets Here

Watch A Movie

Projector X, a new neon-lit vintage pop-up at Clarke Quay, is one in a series of planned pop-ups by independent cinema The Projector, for people who enjoy old school ambiance. You may see famous films like Breakfast at Tiffany’s or Sound of Metal, to mention a few, in either the club-like booth seats or the spacious theatre seats. Everyone will be given a pair of Bluetooth headphones with which they may listen to the movie’s audio track and control the level as desired. A whacky but interesting concept that works! Check out this article for more info!

Admission: Standard Tickets from $18.50 onwards

Work Out

Despite the fact that the gyms are closed, there is no reason to abandon your fitness objectives for the year. Even at home, there are a range of ways to get a nice sweat going. Make your own home gym using some of our ideas or perform body-weight workouts that don’t require any gym equipment. If you would like to learn more do check out our article here. It might not look the same as a traditional gym, but you will definitely feel the same after the workout.

The virus outbreak has thrown us a lengthy hook, but we tough Singaporeans have demonstrated our adaptability and resilience. There are still lots of fresh things to accomplish this June 2021, whether it’s spending some time for self-improvement at home or clocking in some good family time. We hope that this list has helped you to stay strong and endure a little bit more.
