I am pretty sure all of us wants this pandemic to be over so that we can live our lives just like before. I miss those days, walking around without the mask, singing my heart our at karaoke studios and just having fun with my friends. Okay, at least the cinema is still open.

Despite all the restrictions and safe distancing measures, many organisations are expanding their business by coming up with new venues for our fellow Singaporeans to hang and chill. The Projector has launched its pop-up cinema at Riverside Point – and the vibe, just perfect!

Its Fascinating History

Riverside Point actually has a pretty amazing history. It was recognised as the Studio City cinema built in the 1990s. It also housed the National Museum between 2003 and 2006. Furthermore, it hosted the debut of Singapore Short Cuts – showcasing Singapore short films.

Today, Riverside Point is filled with offices, food and beverages and retail outlets. It is frequently visited by business executives, locals and tourists. From romantic dinner restaurants to family gatherings or even after work cocktails, Riverside Point has it all.

New Cinema Pop-Up

The Projector has came up with a brand new cinema concept with its aim to continue spreading its electric vibes, with an idea that is original yet sustainable during these times. Thus, Projector X came about and it is located in the heart of Clarke Quay at Riverside Point.

In collaboration with Wynk Collaborative, the pop-up took over an abandoned fourth storey Chinese disco, offering a new place for people to hang for the next one and a half year – about 18 months. Projector X is more that a cinema. It offers exciting movies, and it also has a bar where visitors can enjoy the breath-taking view.

Neon Room

The Neon Room is an amazing artwork by Mojoko, offering a cosy, social distanced 48-seater theatre of comfortable cinema seats, booths, and coffee tables.

Apart from that, wireless headphones are provided. It’s just you and the movie with no distractions – how amazing is that? This is definitely a must visit!

Riverside Bar

The Riverside Bar offers more than you could imagine. Apart from The Projector favourites, the Riverside Bar offers small plates and sharing platters with a touch of inspiration from its siam diu (Thai disco) past.

Its menu includes tempeh chips crab cake burgers and top shell salads. They also offer craft beers from Rocky Ridge brewery, natural wines, and Sunday Punch cocktails.

The Projector is keeping all its disco glitz and V6 glam, spreading the Golden Mile vibes across town!

I am all about retro vibes, it is like reliving the past – carefree and vibrant. Head down to the new cinema pop-up by The Projector with your friends and family and experience a new cinema concept. Don’t forget to indulge in their delicious food items at the Riverside Bar too!
