Not just your go-to for a fix of nostalgia with their iconic sundaes, discover a selection of hearty local favourites that are sure to delight the senses too! Enjoy great value with nothing over $20 as you feast with your family and friends on Swensen’s generous portions and servings.
Starting off with the Claypot Spicy Laksa ($15.80), Swensen’s iteration of the classic favourite is more lemak or rich with a slightly charred flavour that is also sweet on its own or when paired with their sambal.
The dish may be lacking abit of the hei bi (dried shrimp) flavour that gives laksa a good savoury kick but topped with two King Prawns, bean sprouts, fish cake slices, fried bean curd, hard-boiled egg and a sprinkling of chopped laksa leaf, this is still a decadent bowl of goodness.
The Seafood Mee Goreng ($15.80) on the other hand is a plate of stir-fried seafood noodles in Indonesian grill style showcasing a creamy spicy sauce with a sweet tomato-y kick. Enjoy the wok-fried dish and fragrance that comes with a bounty of oceanic delights from King Prawns to fried fish fillet and sotong.
Our favourite dish on the menu is the classic Beef Hor Fun ($14.80) which is a no-frills, unpretentious dish tossed with chilled not frozen US Sirloin beef slices, beansprouts, fish cake and egg to wok hei perfection. The mouth-watering plate is then crowned with crispy deep-fried beef fat and fried leek that ties everything together.
For those who can’t skip out on their rice, Swensen’s Nasi Lemak ($14.80) comes with fragrant coconut rice and a platter of delicious toppings that include an oversized double chicken cutlet! Alongside an omelette with onion, achar (preserved vegetables) and a sprinkling of crispy ikan bilis and peanuts, pair it with their sweet sambal chilli for a good combination of flavours.
The Curry Chicken ($15.80) has a spicier kick for those who love a bit more heat in their food with tender chicken chunks and potatoes. Unlike the usual pairing with just fluffy steamed rice, this rendition boasts the accompaniment of chopped salted egg, tangy achar, sambal chilli and ketchup manis reminiscent of the unique British Colonial style.
For desserts, enjoy the king of all durians Mao Shan Wang with Sea Salt Gula Melaka Ice Cream Cake (500g – $66, 1kg – $88). Made with 100% highest grade Mao Shan Wang puree with luxurious sea salt Gula Melaka, this is a cake that will win the hearts of all the durian lovers out there. The cake will be available for home delivery, or self-collection at Clementi Mall, NEX, Tampines Mall, Plaza Singapura and Causeway Point.
Continuing to delight and bring its customer new and innovative dishes, Swensen’s is the place to bring loved ones together over for great, value-for-money meals with an extensive menu selection of hearty mains, finger food, desserts and more!
