Sweet Spots Guide | The Top 10 Best Desserts That Were Awarded 3 SPOONS

With the support of the Singapore Tourism Board, the Museum of Ice Cream (MOIC) has unveiled their inaugural Sweet Spots guide featuring 50 establishments that have been awarded with the SPOONS award.

Offering a diverse range of more than 10 culinary types, from local street vendors to upscale dining venues, the selection process involved rigorous nominations and judgments by both the public and experts in the local culinary community to reflect the evolving tastes of the local populace.

Classified into three categories, from 1 SPOON to 3 SPOONS, here’s the list of the top 10 best desserts that were awarded 3 SPOONS:

    Sunday Folks

Sunday Folks is known for their artisanal ice creams and waffles. Their Earl Grey Lavender ice cream is one of the first flavours they created that has stayed with them throughout the years after winning the hearts of many of their customers.

Other special items to look out for include their Nasi Lemak “Blue Pea Coconut” ice cream and their ice cream petit gateau such as Ete, Marrakesh, Pavlova and Noisette.

  • 2:AM Dessert Bar

2:AM Dessert Bar is helmed by Chef Janice Wong that is known for her chocolate bons bons and desserts.

The Twix is made with Burnt Caramel Bavarois, 85% Dark Chocolate Sorbet, Peanut Crumble, Salted Caramel and Chocolate Chips for a delightful and well-rounded experience.

Other favourites of ours include their Sticky Date Pudding and their Freshly Baked Madeleines.

  • Le Matin Patisserie

Le Matin Patisserie has made a significant impact on the local dessert scene since its opening at ION Orchard in February 2023.

Chef Al-Matin’s signature French delights, include the delectable Kouign Amann that is generously layered with butter, caramelized sugar, vanilla, and hints of molasses.

  • Dolcetto (Conrad Singapore)

Dolcetto is a day-to-night artisanal pasticceria and mercatino inspired by the shops that line the streets of Italy located within Conrad Singapore. Explore Italian pastries, quiches, and desserts alongside your favorite Italian specialties.

  • Yat Ka Yan Dessert

Yat Ka Yan is an old school dessert shop that serves up heartwarming bowls of dessert made with love and care. Alongside their popular items like the Durian Chendol or Yammy Chendol, our favourites include their Sesame Paste and Almond Cream.

  • Birds of Paradise Gelato Boutique

Known for the botanical gelato made with the finest quality of ingredients, Bird of Paradise uses natural and botanical ingredients like fruits, flowers, pods, herbs, and spices to make their sweet treats. Our favourite flavours include Midnight Gianduja and Sea Salt Houjicha paired with their signature Thyme Cone.

  • Tigerlily Patisserie

Inspired by the delicate beauty of nature, Tigerlily Patisserie by Executive Pastry Chef Maxine Ngooi forages the robust produce of each season to curate pastries baked with equal parts refined techniques and radiant flavours.

Tigerlily’s signature Beehive Entremet consists of a citrus-bright hive of lemon, thyme and lychee honey jelly, light lemon sponge and honey parfait in a yuzu mousse encasing. Some other highlights we would recommend is their Lemon Thai Basil Tart and Pink Guava & Pear.

  • Tarte by Cheryl Koh

The delectable tarts at Tarte by Cheryl Koh are baked from scratch every morning  with only the best quality ingredients sourced from around the world. Made with a high level of technicality and finesses, our favourite tarts include their Strawberry, Calamansi & Mint and Dark Chocolate Tart.

  • Rempapa

Traditional desserts are also celebrated, with Rempapa paying homage to Singapore’s cultural diversity serving flavours of the Chinese, Peranakan, Eurasian, Indian and Malay cuisine.

MasterChef Singapore judge Chef Damian D’Silva’s Kueh Kosui, features soft and chewy textures with notes of toffee and gula melaka that is not to be missed.

  • Kind Kones

Kind Kones has proven in our books that the plant based label or a healthier option does not mean you have to compromise on taste.

Their ice creams are handcrafted in small batches from all-natural ingredients that is free from dairy, egg, preservative, and any artificial additives.

Our favourites that we would recommend you to try include their Almond Brittle Fudge, Mango Raspberry Swirl and Pistachio Oat.

A total of 15 establishments across Singapore received the 2 SPOONS award while another 25 establishments were awarded the 1 SPOON award for their standout desserts.
