Starbucks Singapore opened a special new store at 37 Smith Street in Chinatown. This store is unique because it’s the first Starbucks in Singapore housed in a historic shophouse. Located just a 3-minute walk from Chinatown MRT station, this store combines local tradition with the popular Starbucks coffee experience.

A Store Celebrating Heritage and Art

The new Starbucks store at Chinatown is beautifully designed to reflect local culture. The walls feature colorful murals by Singapore artist Tiffany Lovage. Her artworks show scenes inspired by Chinatown’s history, local landscapes, and Starbucks coffee.

Local Craftsmanship Meets Starbucks

Visitors to the store will see Starbucks written in Chinese calligraphy (“星巴克”) on a special wooden sign. This is the first Starbucks in Singapore to use traditional Chinese wood carving and plaster moulding techniques. These beautiful artworks were made by local masters Yong Cheong Thye and Cheh Kai Hon.

Welcoming Community Spaces

Inside the store, the seating area is inspired by traditional Singapore void deck chess setups. It’s a warm and welcoming space that encourages customers to relax, connect, and enjoy their coffee.

Exclusive Merchandise at Chinatown Starbucks

The store includes a dedicated retail area selling special items available only here. You can find a unique range of merchandise created with local artists, including the life-sized Merlion Bearista. This makes for a great photo spot and is part of Starbucks’ promise to deliver special customer experiences.

New Starbucks Drinks Exclusive to Chinatown Store

At Starbucks Chinatown, enjoy new drinks that blend local flavors and coffee:

  • Black Sesame Oatmilk Coffee Frappuccino® with Soy Pudding (Grande: $9.90)
Rich, nutty black sesame flavor combined with coffee, milk, ice, and soy pudding.

  • Yuan Yang Coffee Frappuccino® (Grande: $9.90)
Coffee blended with toasty hojicha tea, milk, chocolate chips, and whipped cream.

Special Local-Inspired Food Choices

Starbucks collaborates with local brand Old Seng Choong, offering delicious new treats:

  • XL Chicken Char Siew Puff ($6.00)

  • Coffee Bolo Bun with Butter ($4.90)

  • Coffee Egg Tart ($3.90)

  • Java Chip Frappuccino® Swiss Roll ($7.20)

  • Lychee Swiss Roll ($7.20)

  • Pandan Chiffon Cake ($3.90 slice, $22.80 whole)

These exclusive treats are available only at Starbucks 37 Smith Street, Chinatown.

Starbucks + JunleFont: Unique Merchandise Collection

Starbucks partners with JunleFont, created by local artist Lee Jun Le. This collection features mugs, tumblers, bags, and chopstick sets, available exclusively at 37 Smith Street. Each item reflects Singapore’s rich culture and heritage.

Starbucks + WHENIWASFOUR: Nostalgic Singapore Items

Another special collaboration is with local brand WHENIWASFOUR. This collection includes mugs, tumblers, and tote bags designed with nostalgic Singaporean elements. It’s perfect for both locals and tourists wanting memorable Singapore-themed keepsakes.

Celebrate Tradition with Starbucks Lion Dance Series

To celebrate the opening, Starbucks introduces a Lion Dance Series featuring Bearista plush toys dressed in festive costumes. Also available is a special Samsui Bearista plush keychain inspired by Chinatown’s iconic Samsui women.
