Ever wonder what is it like to celebrate a festival held in another country? Such a bummer that the pandemic hit. Imagine the countless new experiences out there waiting to be explored. Not to worry, as Wild Wild Wet @Downtown East is bringing its visitors a trip to Thailand to experience its Songkran Water Festival.

Songkran Water Festival In Thailand

Held between April 13th – 15th, the Songkran Water Festival marks the beginning of the Thai New Year. The name ‘Songkran’ was established from the word ‘sangkrit’ which means ‘passing’ or ‘approaching’.

On this special occasion, crowds will splash buckets of water or use water guns on others to celebrate. It is also an event where families go back to their hometown to spend time with older relatives.

Though it is a festival celebrated in Thailand, many tourists and visitors tend to plan their trips to coincide with the dates just to participate in this big scale event.
