This November, local actor and TV host Shane Pow brings a refreshing twist to city dining with the launch of Taiyo Camp Club by Taiyo, a camping-themed pop-up concept at Chef X. Running from 12 November 2025 to 6 January 2026, the two-month residency promises hearthside comfort, handcrafted treats, and a touch of outdoor magic — all under one cosy roof.

From Side Hustler to Baker Extraordinaire

What started as a humble home experiment in 2024 — baking banana bread in his one-bedroom condo — has grown into a heartfelt home bakery. During his downtime between acting projects, Shane began sharing his banana loaves on Instagram, sparking unexpected buzz from fans and friends eager to try them.

After months of perfecting his recipe and learning from YouTube tutorials, Shane officially launched Taiyo Bread Shop in February 2025. The name “Taiyo,” meaning sun in Japanese, reflects his mission to spread warmth and happiness through his handmade bakes.

Today, Shane continues to handcraft each loaf himself, offering just three signature flavours:

  • Going Bananas – A classic banana loaf bursting with natural sweetness.

  • Nutty Nana – A comforting mix of banana and crunchy walnuts.

  • Chocoloco – Rich banana bread dotted with decadent dark chocolate chips.

Each flavour is moist, aromatic, and baked in small batches that sell out quickly — so getting your hands on one feels like finding treasure.

Note: Taiyo Bread Shop is not taking online orders during this period — but you can enjoy the full lineup at Taiyo Camp Club by Taiyo at Chef X.

“Fuel-Good” Campfire Treats

Shane’s pop-up reimagines the nostalgia of sharing food around a campfire — minus the mosquitoes. The setup at Clarke Quay Central brings together warm lights, rustic wooden décor, and the scent of freshly baked bread.

The menu features both sweet and savoury bites inspired by campfire classics:

🍞 Bakes to Love:

  • Going Bananas ($30/loaf, $4/slice)

  • Nutty Nana ($33/loaf, $4.50/slice)

  • Chocoloco ($33/loaf, $4.50/slice)

  • Kohaku Focaccia ($4) – with burnt butter and cinnamon

  • Belgium Chocolate Cake ($6)

  • Carrot Cake ($6)

  • Pecan Pie (Christmas special!)

🔥 Campfire Bites:

  • Midnight Ramyeon ($8.50) – Kimchi noodles topped with popcorn chicken

  • Little Dimples ($8) – Dumplings with a tangy chilli-vinegar drizzle

  • Golden Drumlets ($10) – Fried to perfection with a secret spice blend

Shane also teases surprise new creations that will appear throughout the residency — perfect for return visits.

Doing Good, One Bake at a Time

Beyond food, Taiyo Camp Club by Taiyo celebrates community and compassion. A portion of proceeds will go to Care Corner Singapore, supporting social and healthcare initiatives across the island.

Shane has also teamed up with De’Longhi for aromatic coffee brews and Ele Tea, a homegrown herbal tea brand offering soothing TCM-inspired blends.
