Popular American Bakery Mr Holmes Bakehouse Opening Its Doors In Singapore

When the Cruffin first appeared on the bake scene in 2013, it took the world by surprise, but it wasn’t until 2014 that it was popularized and trademarked by Mr Holmes Bakehouse in San Francisco. Mr Holmes Bakehouse will soon open its first Southeast Asian flagship at Pacific Plaza in June, bringing the bakery to Singapore for the first time. 8 years later, Singaporeans can finally get a taste of the delectable creation.

This flagship, which will be a 41-seater bakery-café on the first floor of Pacific Plaza on Orchard Road, and it will serve their famed croissant-muffin hybrids, dubbed Cruffins, alongside the other croissants and doughnuts that have made them popular. Mr Holmes Bakehouse is flying in their pastry chefs to help educate and impart their baking expertise on their local peers, ensuring that the pastries we get here are of the same high quality as those at the original shop in San Francisco.

Back in the original bakery in United States, they have some fine creations we hope to see on the Singapore menu. For instance, the Pineapple Upside Down Cruffin which has a tropical gooey filling that will make you feel like you are at both the Bahamas and France at the same time.

This location will be decked out in a custom-designed signature pink and white scheme, complete with their Instagram famous “I got baked” and peace neon signs that will undoubtedly fill locals’ Instagram feeds. The open-seating area is often said to have white-tiled walls and candy pink ceilings, which is guaranteed to transport diners make the dining experience rather ethereal.

Unfortunately, we are unsure of the opening date due to the complications brought by the pandemic, but once it is open, you and I both know that the place will be packed to the brim with pastry heads. If you don’t want to wait for a seat at the café, a variety of savoury and sweet baked cookies, as well as the usual tea and coffee options and even kombucha, will be available for takeaway.
