Chinese New Year is that special time when the family group chat gets louder, the snack table gets fuller, and everyone starts exchanging “huat ah!” wishes like it’s a sport.

For CNY 2026, Old Seng Choong is leaning into the Year of the Horse energy with a festive collection that’s big on gifting, bold on flavours, and packed with nostalgic favourites (plus a premium new bak kwa you’ll want to keep for yourself).

What’s new and worth trying first

1) Applewood Bak Kwa (New, premium highlight) — S$68.80

This is the headline act for the Year of the Horse: Applewood Bak Kwa, smoked over applewood for a fruit-forward, refined smokiness, with slices individually vacuum-packed for freshness.

Old Seng Choong’s bak kwa lineup (480g box):

  • Applewood Bak Kwa — S$68.80 (new)

  • Traditional Bak Kwa — S$45.80

  • Truffle Bak Kwa — S$48.80

2) Egg Rolls (“love letters”) — S$9.80 (New)

A CNY staple gets a fresh update. Old Seng Choong’s Egg Rolls come in multiple flavours on the official CNY page, including:

  • Pandan Egg Roll — S$9.80

  • Coffee Egg Roll — S$9.80

  • Sea Salt Egg Roll — S$9.80

  • Chocolate Egg Roll — S$9.80

(Perfect for that “one more piece” snacking spiral.)

Pineapple tarts for every kind of snacker

If pineapple tarts are non-negotiable in your home, you’ll like this spread. Each box comes with 12 pieces, and you can pick your flavour mood:

Old Seng Choong Pineapple Tarts (Box of 12):

  • Mandarin Orange Pineapple Tarts — S$45.80 (back by popular demand)

  • Original Pineapple Tarts — S$38.80

  • Truffle Bak Kwa Pineapple Tarts — S$45.80

  • Assorted Pineapple Tarts — S$42.80

Classic traditional treats (for the “must have every year” crowd)

Want the comforting, familiar stuff for reunion meals and visiting? These are on the CNY 2026 page too:

  • Traditional Nian Gao — S$38.80

  • Traditional Carrot Cake — S$38.80

  • Traditional Yam Cake — S$38.80

  • Traditional Red Date Cake — S$38.80

  • Kueh Lapis (Original) — S$42.80;

  • Prune — S$48.80

Gift-ready details people will actually notice

A big part of this drop is the horse-inspired packaging (red/blue/gold, lively illustrations) and the limited-edition Year of the Horse scarf that comes with items like the Applewood Bak Kwa (noted on the product listing).

Pro tips before you buy

  • Don’t wait for “later” on popular gift boxes—pre-orders help you lock in what you want, then collect from 13 Jan 2026 for tarts/bak kwa.

  • Build a smart gifting set: one premium (Applewood Bak Kwa), one classic (Original Pineapple Tarts), and one “coffee table snack” (Egg Rolls).

  • Flying soon? Airport transit pick-ups are convenient, but you’ll need a valid boarding pass to access those outlets.

  • Promo stacking idea: if you’re buying CNY snacks, aim for the Buy 5 Get 1 Free deal before you check out.
