Opened from 27 May to 19 Nov 2023, Now Boarding: Experiencing Singapore through Travel, 1800s – 2000s, a travel-themed exhibition set against the backdrop of Singapore’s colonial past and its post-independence decades.

There are four sections that are themed around transportation, accommodation, food and drinks, attractions, and shopping. The exhibition showcases specially curated selection artefacts which brings back memories of travel to and from Singapore.

The Iconic Analogue Flip Board

Remember when we were younger, whenever we travelled to the airport, we would see the iconic analogue flip board? Here at the National Museum Singapore, it features the analogue flip board and even a Singapore Airlines’ A380 prestigious Suites Cabin seat.

The flipboard is one of the 600 artefacts at the exhibition.

Disco Pop-Up Room – adapted from Little Day Out

As part of Now Boarding, there will also be a series of themed pop-up experiences that will happen throughout the year, including NMS’ very own disco room, that’s designed to have a retro vibe.

This Disco Room will teach you three dance tutorials. Learn the dances and dance to them then scan in your heritage ID to have the video of you and your friends dancing sent to your email address.

Look out for more pop-up rooms that are to be opened in August.

Now Boarding Interactive Game

The National Museum of Singapore also has a Now Boarding Interactive Game where you journey across Singapore island to find and collect iconic relics. There are items hidden all across the map. Upon completing the game, you can receive a special reward!

Play the game here:
