TamJai SamGor Mixian, Hong Kong’s famous noodle chain, celebrates their second Anniversary in Singapore this year-end! With their signature Mixian or gluten-free rice noodles, their name has rapidly spread like wildfire throughout the island with 10 outlets, including an express store, in just two years! Diners are spoilt for choice of 700,000 different combinations with 6 flavourful soup bases and 10 different levels of spice.
Only available in Singapore, TamJai SamGor Mixian is proud to introduce their new dish: SamGor Zha Jiang Mixian ($10.90). This dish comes with a beautiful blend of tender roasted chicken chunks, tangy pickled cabbage, beansprout, aromatic fried scallions and chinese celery.
A sweet and savoury dish coupled with the multitude of textures, the original flavour is not spicy at all, but for the spice-lovers, you may choose to customise your spiciness level. Starting from 1st November 2022 onwards (1st December 2022 for Suntec City outlet), enjoy this new addition to the Tamjai Samgor menu.
Also, we tried the Ma La Soup (from $6.50) base at level five (Spicy; 3小辣) spice level and added toppings of pork and fish fillet. Do not be fooled by the look, although it looks anything but spicy, the numbing effect is apparent. Do note that the Ma La Soup is only available with at least a level two spice level (Highly recommended for those who cannot take spice but wish to eat something spicy). The overall taste of this dish was rather light, perfect for those who do not wish to eat anything heavy that day.
An advice when choosing your spice level: Using the MaLa XiangGuo spice level as a reference, Level five can be considered 小辣 (Small Spice); Level seven is 中辣 (Medium Spice) while Level eight is 大辣 (Big Spice). This may differ from person to person but use this as a gauge as written by a writer who can’t really take the heat.
Indulge in the TuFei Chicken Mid-Wings (3pcs at $4.80) that is both aromatic and delicious. It has a mild numbing feel to it, so do not be shocked when that taste hits you. Well marinated and not too oily, the juicy chicken meat pairs well with its crispy exterior and goes well with either your soup or dry zha jiang mi xian noodles.
Another dish that we got was the Poached Chicken Mid-Wings in Chongqing Hot Sauce ($4.90). The tender chicken meat is submerged in Hot Chongqing sauce, producing that delectable aromatic flavour that melts right on your tongue. You may choose between the Chongqing Hot Sauce and Ma La Sauce.
For a limited time only, TamJai SamGor Mixian has a 2-year Anniversary Special: Two Good Two Handle, a combo for 2 that saves 13%. For only $34.90, choose between 2 bowls of SamGor Zha Jiang Mixian or 1 bowl of SamGor Zha Jiang Mixian and 1 bowl of Mixian with 2 toppings (A/B/C). You can also choose two snacks (Of selected items) and 2 drinks (Milk tea/ Watercress Honey / Iced Lychee Lemonade).
