There are so many things to learn from TikTok. From home organisation to life hacks, people are always sharing their tips and tricks to living a better life with others. What keeps me coming back to TikTok is the never-ending introduction of new recipes and food hacks.
We were introduced to Feta Cheese Pasta and Nature Cereal a few months back and now there are more new recipes to try out on TikTok. I am pretty excited to try these recipes out myself. Let’s take a look at some of these recipes and maybe you can try them at home too!
Birria Tacos
Birria Tacos has been on my For You Page on TikTok for the longest time. This Mexican dish got many people excited to try them. It may not be a new dish to some, but I first came across Birria Tacos via a video by JacqueGotMeat on Tiktok.
These tacos are packed with flavour and a whole lot of meat. Mexican beef is slow-cooked until it is tender and falls apart. It is then pulled apart and placed onto tortillas. Don’t forget the cheese too. The taco is then drenched into the stew and fried to perfection.
Top it with cilantro and red onions. Once it is done, serve it a side of the stew and enjoy! This dish is the perfect blend of spicy, sweet and sour flavours. My mouth is already salivating just talking about it!
Lizzo’s Ricotta Toast
I am pretty sure many would already know the classic avocado toast for breakfast. However, American singer Lizzo, made her own twist to the classic toast. Instead of using avocados, she substitutes it with ricotta cheese.
Similar to the avocado toast, you first toast your bread and get it all crispy. You can any type of bread you love for this one. Afterward, fry up some cherry tomatoes with a little olive oil. Season with a little salt to taste.
Once your toast and tomatoes are ready, it is time to assemble. Spread some fresh ricotta cheese onto your toast. Arrange your tomatoes on top and place some fresh arugula as well. Finish it off with a little black pepper and enjoy!
Pasta Chips
I have been dying to try this one. Throw your regular and boring potato chips out the window and make pasta chips instead! When I first say this trend on my FYP, I was pretty sceptical about it. But then, more and more TikTok users such as FeelGoodFoodie started making their own versions of it and I was pumped to try them out on my own.
It couldn’t get any simpler. All you need is your choice of pasta, you choice of seasoning, some olive oil, parmesan cheese and your favourite dip. Start by boiling your pasta till they are al dente. Afterwards throw them into a bowl, drizzle some olive oil, sprinkle some parmesan cheese and the seasoning of your choice.
Toss all of the ingredients together, making sure each pasta is well-coated. Once ready, pop them into your air fryer and let it crisp up and turn golden brown. Make sure to shake it every few minutes. If you do not have an air fryer, an oven works just as well. Just remember to keep an eye on it so that it would not burn.
Once they are done, serve with a side of your favourite dip. This is such a great snack for when you have a small get-together with friends and family at home or make them just for yourself if you are me!
Spicy Pickled Garlic
I am not pretty sure if this would taste good. I mean I love garlic, just not eaten as whole. Imagine the garlic breath afterwards. Nonetheless, the spicy pickled garlic has also been appearing on my FYP recently. The recipe was introduced by TikTok user @lalaleluu. People are going crazy over it and explained that it actually tastes good.
I really do not know if I am going to try this out but if you love garlic, this might be for you. It is pretty simple to put together. All you need is a jar of pickled garlic, sriracha, Korean chili flakes and oregano.
Simple squeeze as much sriracha as you like, add about one to two tablespoons of Korean chili flakes and oregano. Once added, the last thing you have to do is shake it all up till it is well combined. The ingredients can be adjusted to suit your liking.
These are pretty interesting and delicious recipes you can try out at home. Head over to TikTok to find more delicious recipes for you to try. You might just come across other life hacks too!
