Fans of police thrillers should make time for Detective Novice, an action-suspense drama that tells the story of two cadets from a police academy who get dragged into complex cases and rely on the lessons they had learnt in class to solve crimes.
Based on the hit Japanese light novel series and popular manga adaptation, The Detective is Already Dead, features Kimihiko Kimizuka, a third-year high school student and former assistant of a detective named Siesta whom he made acquaintance within a hijacked plane. After three years of numerous death-defying adventures, and the untimely death of Siesta, Kimihiko tries his best to reintegrate himself back into a normal life. Catch the exclusive television premiering on 12 October 2021 at 8pm (SGT) on Animax Asia!
For adventure mixed with folklore, check out Spooky Kitaro 6. Following numerous explainable phenomena that starts confusing adults of the human world, 13-year-old Mana writes a letter to the Yo-kai Post in search of answers, only to be greeted by a yo-kai boy called Kitaro. Together with Mana, Kitaro strives to unite the human and yo-kai worlds. Premiering on 22 October 2021 at 8:30pm (SGT) this is a show you should not miss.
With a Japanese adaptation of hit South Korean thriller series, Voice II features inspector “Mad Dog” Shōgo Higuchi whom partners with voice profiler Hikari Tachibana to form the Emergency Call Unit (ECU). Tachibana is gifted with exceptional hearing and uses minute audial clues to resolve crises while searching for Higuchi’s wife’s murderer.
Another adaptation you should watch is She Was Pretty. This is a romantic comedy, based on a true story, about two past acquaintances who meet again after they’ve gone through a reversal of fortunes and appearances, set in the backdrop of a fashion magazine’s publishing office that will warm your hearts.
Premiering on 10 October 2021 at 8:30pm (SGT), My Senpai Is Annoying revolves around Futuba Igarashi, a hardworking young office lady. Harumi Takeda, the senpai above her at work, annoys her constantly – and yet she finds herself growing closer to him. Or if an action-packed yet comical and eccentric story, featuring a band of uniquely complex characters is your kind of thing, Lupin the 3rd Part 6 will be available on 17 October 2021 at 10:30pm (SGT). Follow Lupin III, a gentleman thief whose grandfather was the renowned phantom thief Arsene Lupin and unfold mysteries with the art of thievery.
