Minion Land is coming to take over the Madagascar zone of Universal Studios Singapore (USS). Although we will definitely miss the memorable Madagascar zone, do not fret as Minion Land will be coming in big with very exciting attractions, themed shops and more!
Minion Land as part of Resort World Sentosa’s $4.5 billion expansion
In efforts to revive the post-pandemic tourism sector, Minion Land is in construction as part of RWS’ expansion plan (also known as ‘RWS 2.0’). Minion Land will be the first attraction in Singapore to be powered by renewable energy as it is being built sustainably and “in sync with Singapore’s larger sustainable tourism goals”, RWS CEO, Mr Tan Hee Teck, said.
The upcoming Minion Land will be able to bring the post-pandemic tourism sector back to life and, at the same time, allow Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) to transform into a sustainable tourist spot.
Besides building Minion Land, RWS 2.0 will also bring about Super Nintendo World to Singapore, a three times expansion of the S.E.A. Aquarium and will be revamping the RWS Centre and the three hotels.
What to expect in Minion Land
Minion Land will consist of a myriad of rides, themed shops and eateries. ‘Despicable Me Minion Mayhem’ will be one of the stimulating 3D rides which will allow riders to visit Gru’s home and his laboratory and see the cute minions. Together with this 3D ride, there will be another minion themed ride that is exclusive to USS.
“I am confident that Minion Land will create a huge wave of excitement in this region”, Mr Tan mentioned. With many rides and attractions inside Minion Land, Minion Land will be as enjoyable as the Madagascar Zone, if not, more enjoyable.
No longer do you need to try to find the few minion mascots running around USS, when you will be surrounded by these playful minions in a land dedicated to them in 2024!
