We all have several celebrities and known individuals whom we want to meet one fine day. Being a huge fan of Bollywood movies, I would definitely want to meet Bollywood stars such as Kajol and Hritik Roshan – so charming!
Though I doubt that I will be able to meet them in real life, here at Madame Tussauds Singapore, I am given the opportunity to get up close to their wax figures – at least! Located at Sentosa, Madame Tussauds Singapore has had many visitors since it first opened in 2014.
A Little History Won’t Hurt Anybody
Madame Tussaud was born Marie Grosholtz in Strasbourg back in 1761. In 1793, she was imprisoned with her mother and upon her release, she was forced to prove her allegiance. But how?
She had to make death masks of executed nobles and her former employers, the King and Queen. In 1794, she inherited Dr Phillipe Curtuis’ wax exhibition. She then took her exhibition on tour in 1802.
In 1884, her grandsons moved it to Marylbone Road and in 1972, the second European Madame Tussauds opened in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The year 2011 marks its 250th anniversary and was then opened in Singapore in 2014. Today, Madame Tussauds continue to attract locals and tourists to its exhibitions.
What’s Inside?
There is so much going on inside Madame Tussauds. Let’s take a look, shall we?

The Spirit of Singapore boat ride is the first ever Madame Tussauds boat ride. It brings you on a trip through fantasy and the tropical Singapore garden. Watch native plants come to life, along with a soothing bird song.
You will then be brought from nature’s serenity to Singapore’s F1 Night Race with sounds of cars speeding up. You will pass the Singapore flyer and hear the thunderous roar of Singapore Airline’s A380 aircraft and will end your journey at Singapore’s very own Changi Airport.
