Little Farms Bistro at Katong Point now presents a new smoky and woodfire-focused menu to tantalise your tastebuds! With whole new dimensions of charred goodness rendering the food bolder, smokier and all around punchier, here some of the highlights to look forward to:
The O’Connor Grass-fed Beef Prime Cuts is served with prime cuts of strip loin (200g: $42.00), tenderloin (250g: $48.00) or rib-eye (300g: $54.00) obtained directly from the Little Farms butcher, chargrilled until juicy and tender on the inside.
For non beef eaters, the Thai style organic barbecue chicken ($30 for half) is grilled to a perfect char and topped with a sweet, sour and spicy sauce that packs a punch.
For the pork lovers out there, enjoy the BBQ pork neck ($14) marinated in fish sauce, oyster sauce and coconut cream for deep umami flavours.
If you are game, try the Roaring Forties Lamb Cutlets, priced at $42 for a 250g portion. These lamb cutlets are chargrilled to achieve the ideal balance of rendered fat and perfectly cooked lean meat.
The lamb shanks are paired with a Mediterranean grilled aubergine baba ganoush, infused with flavours of garlic confit, coriander, and cumin. Overall, a savoury, sweet, juicy and substantial dish.
From 23 August until 30 September 2023, the Umami Butter Chicken Piccata ($28) is available for order at Little Farms Bistro. If you only have space for one main, this is highly recommended.
The dish consists of pan-grilled Bostock chicken in a piccata sauce with infused umami butter, lemon juice, capers and finished off with a generous side serving of Colcannon mash.
P.s. The rich butter sauce also known as Dirty Delicious Umami Butter ($19.90) used in this dish, can be bought from the Little Farms Grocer in limited quantites while stocks last!
Usually sold out online, this creation by Chef Sam Chablani is bold, savoury with an umami kick from the addition of seaweed that goes well with literally just about anything.
For small plates that are great for sharing, the cured salmon tartare ($12) is made up of sakura salmon from New Zealand that is cured in beetroot juice and gin, topped up with coriander and salt for an earthy flavour profile.
For something more earthy, the grilled portobello mushroom bruschetta ($12) is actually served on dao pok beancurd toasts, holding up savoury mushroom bites.
Other honourable mentions:
- Wood fired Veggies ($12): For the vegetarians out there, this dish features selections of green vegetables chargrilled with olive oil, salt, pepper and served in a casserole.
- Smokey Tamarind Glazed Grilled Octopus ($16): In this dish, a whole tentacle of octopus is grilled and coated with a spicy sweet tamarind and paprika combination.
