The East Side now gets better with the launch of Joo Chiat Oyster House, your new one-stop place for oysters, cocktails, and tapas!
At 5pm daily, a switch in lighting marks the turn of King Cart Coffee into Joo Chiat Oyster House, where lights are dimmed.
Where Past Meets the Present
Despite the dim lights, Oyster House comes alive with Instagrammable corners brimming with stylish aesthetics of retro-vintage vibes.
Turning things up a notch will be a curated playlist of nostalgic energy, playing songs from genres of pop, punk, and soft rock.
Oysters for a Shucking Good Time
Joo Chiat Oyster House brings the best catch directly from Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, flown in weekly and shucked upon order for incomparable freshness.
Starting from only $3.10 per piece (minimum order of 2 pieces per flavour) ,take your pick from naked, flavoured, or baked iterations.
- Naked Oysters go for $3.50 per piece, $3.30 per piece for half dozen and $3.10 per piece for a dozen.
- Flavoured Oysters with toppings including Chimichurri, Red Wine Mignonette, Salsa or Yuzu Foam at $3.90 per piece, $3.60 per piece for half dozen and $3.30 per piece for a dozen.
- Ikura Oysters at $8.90 per piece, $8.60 per piece for half dozen and $8.30 per piece for a dozen.
- Baked Oysters at $4.90 per piece, $4.60 per piece for half dozen and $4.30 per piece for a dozen. They come up with topping options of Mentaiko, Miso Butter, Garlic Chili or Cheese Baked.
Tapas
- Blur Like Sotong Fritters ($6) – fried calamari served with housemade lemon mayo sauce
- Har Cheong Gai Chicken Loli ($14) – juicy crunchy har cheong chicken bites made easy to eat on a stick.
- Roasted Curried Cauliflower ($10) – tender-roasted cauliflower dressedwith a veil of punchy curry spice.
- Chili Crab & Mantou($16) – cooks up sweet fleshy crab with Singapore’s iconicsauce, accompanied by fried mantou to mop it all up.
- Tako Romesco ($14) – cured octopus leg cooked in a romesco sauce, finished off with crunchy pistachio nuts.

- Katong Laksa Fish & Chips ($21) – all-time favourite fish fritter and fries dish with a dousing of curry laksa gravy for kick.
- Portobello Aglio Olio ($21) – a plateful of satisfying and intense earthy musk of mushroom and pasta.
- Chicken Roulade ($24) – juicy chicken thigh roulade stuffed with chicken mousseline, sun dried tomatoes, sauteed mushrooms, potato puree, romesco and fried kale for that last bit of crunch.

- Aunty Rosalyn ($22) adding to Singapore Peranakan culture with flavours reminiscent of an elder’s feisty and sharp-tongued nature –present in ingredients lemongrass, galangal, and gin.
- 發 ($22) – a word that rings across the Little Red Dot during Chinese New Year – brings prosperity with pineapple run and orange bitters.
- Not So Old Fashioned ($20) – this drink marries the classic drink with a punch of Singapore, adding local spices like cardamom seeds, star anise and gula Melaka to the whisky concoction.
- Singapore Sling ($24) – stands tall and proud as a must-have representation of the Singaporean identity.
- Solero ($20) – created as a rum-based drinkable version of everyone’s favourite Solero lime-flavoured vanilla ice cream.

- Rum Pum Pum ($24) – made with dark rum, gula melaka and a shot of espresso to awaken the senses.
- Cold Brew Highball ($22) – poured from cold brew coffee and spiked with Singapore Dry Gin, Curacao, and a dash of pineapple juice for a tropical highball made for our climate.
To prolong the good times, choose from a selection of classic spirits and liquor ranging from whisky and gin to rum, vodka,and cognac as well as local craft beer on tap.

Happy hour starts when it’s lights out at Joo Chiat Oyster house, with drinks going at $10! Be spoilt for choice from House Pours–Gin, Vodka, Rum, Whiskey or Bourbon. Not a fan of hard liquors? Switch out your glass for House Red, White and Bubblies.
