Ipoh Town Kopitiam, founded by two sisters from Ipoh, has brought the authentic taste of Ipoh to Singapore with its new location at Jewel Changi Airport (#B1-299). With the opening of their first outlet, they will also be collaborating with renowned Ipoh household brand, Choy Kee Bakery, established in 1980 that is famous for its egg tarts.

On 22 and 23 June 2024, customers can enjoy a special promotion of 1-for-1 Choy Kee egg tarts (U.P $2.40 each), celebrating the opening with a sweet treat from Ipoh.
Among the standout dishes from Ipoh Kopitiam is the Nasi Ayam Goreng Berempah ($12.90), Malaysia’s national dish featuring fragrant rice and a whole fried chicken thigh. Seasoned with ten different spices including old ginger, lemongrass and cumin seed this results in a tender and flavourful experience that is finger licking good.

Other dishes to try when you visit includes their Ipoh Chicken Soup Hor Fun ($12.90), with silky hor fun noodles imported directly from Ipoh. A slightly spicier option would be their Ipoh Curry Hor Fun (from $12.90) that is served with a choice of prawn or scallop.
For something more simple, the Fragrant Curry Toast with Soft Boiled Egg ($4.90) aptly named “Zhang Shang Ming Zhu” or “Treasured Jewel in the Palm,” features a crispy toast infused with curry and topped with a perfectly cooked soft-boiled egg. This is a hard to find option nowadays within your local coffeeshop and is sure to be a nostalgic delight.

For dim sum lovers, the menu includes Rendang Pie ($3.50) and Fried Char Siew Bao ($6.90 for 3 pieces) alongside a variety of other fried and steamed dim sum that is great for sharing.
Options include Turnip Cake ($4.90) as well as a special Dang Gui Siew Mai ($4.90) that is made with angelica sinensis and goji berry.

Don’t miss the classic Ipoh “Overjoy” White Coffee (Hot $3.50, Iced $4.90), a must-try even for those who typically don’t enjoy coffee.
