Indulge In Mediterranean Food At These Restaurants In Singapore

Check out these Mediterranean restaurants here in Singapore for you to indulge in delicious food from the Middle East to Greece.

There is no doubt that Singapore is full of different cuisines. From Korean to Mexican cuisine, our tastebuds are everchanging. At times we crave for home-cooked meals, other times we crave for several different cuisines.

Mediterranean food is a flavour combination that comes from the Middle East and Greece. Some Mediterranean food include Kebabs, Gyros, Hummus, Shawarma and more. I have tried Mediterranean food several times and I fell in love with their dishes. Their desserts are to die food. Let us look at some Mediterranean restaurants here in Singapore, offering you a wide range of food to choose from.

Original Sin Restaurant

Operating since 1977, Original Sin Restaurant is a Mediterranean and Italian vegetarian restaurant born from a rich knowledge of food and its flavours. The restaurant creates excellent, healthy and delicious vegetarian cuisines, combining the essence of Mediterranean food. This is made possible through the creative minds of Culinary Director Marisa Bertocchi and Founding Partner and Managing Director Michael Hadley.

Original Sin offers a wide range of menu items to choose from such as pizzas, salads, mains, desserts and more. Some of their salads include Principessa Salad ($18.00), made with roasted pumpkin, avocado, asparagus, and other veggies, topped with balsamic dressing.  Other salads include Caesar Salad ($18.00), Falafel Salad ($18.00) and more.

A fan of pizzas? Check out their pizza menu consisting of their Impossible Meat Pizza ($27.00), Mediterranean Pizza ($27.00), Funghi Pizza ($27.00) or build your own pizza from $20.00. Other dishes include their Spinach Tortellini ($30.00), Spanakopita ($29.00) Spinach, Feta and Tofu Burger ($21.00) that you should definitely check out.

Blu Kouzina

Enjoy authentic Greek cuisine at Blu Kouzina. Nestled in the greenery of Dempsey and the vibrance of Siglap, the restaurant offers comforting Greek cuisine, wine and hospitality while you bond with your friends and family. The restaurant was established in 2010 and is recognised as one of Singapore’s oldest Greek restaurant.

Blu Kouzina has a huge menu featuring all kinds of Mediterranean food. From appetisers to desserts, they have it all. Start your meal with something light such as their salads and mezza (dips). Some of these dishes include their Santorini Salad ($30.80), Watermelon Salad ($18.80), Labna Dip ($16.80), and Skordalia Dip ($15.80).

Afterwards, indulge in their mains such as their Kotopoulo Kalamaki – Chicken ($23.80), Souvlaki Me Pita – Beef ($23.80), and Lavraki – Seafood ($68.80). End your meal with some desserts such as Greek Kanafeh ($15.80), Baklava ($15.80) that is popular with customers.

Sofra Turkish Café and Restaurant

Sofra Turkish Café and Restaurant first opened its doors in 1999 as a cosy corner restaurant at Show Towers. In 2001, they expanded and on July 19th, 2020, the restaurant said goodbye to Shaw Towers. They are now operating at their location at Marina Square. They aim to provide you with a comfortable dining experience, making every moment enjoyable.

The restaurant offers a wide range of menu items to choose from. Try their starters such as their Hummus with Spiced Lamb ($18.90), Mini Mezza Platter ($16.50), Muhammara ($9.50) or you can also opt for salad instead. Some of which include their Eggplant Salad ($6.80), Mutabbal ($8.50), and Feta Salad ($9.90).

Moving onto their main, indulge in delicious grilled dishes such as their Adana Kebab (from $22.50), and Meatball Grill (from $17.80). You can also order their baked dishes such as Lahmacun ($14.90) and Musakka (from $17.50).

Do not forget about dessert. Some of their desserts include their Turkish Rice Pudding ($7.50), Asure ($7.50), Fruity Cutie ($8.50) that is sure to delight you with their great taste.
