I am a huge fan of cafes. I think that the simplicity and modern vibe to cafes feels just right. The type of menu items offered are also unique to the café’s own take on the type of food they offer.
At Baristart Coffee, you get to indulge in food and beverages infused with Hokkaido flavours. This café is perfect for those who are a little more adventurous and would love to experience new flavours. Let’s take a look at some of their offerings!
Baristart Coffee
Baristart Coffee was originally located in Hokkaido. They are the first café in Singapore that offers Hokkaido milk quality, the BIEI Jersey Milk. The café does not only stop at their coffee offerings. Their specially imported BIEI Jersey Milk is also used in a full range of desserts and mouth-watering savouries.
Their main courses are Hokkaido based with ingredients sources from Hokkaido, Japan. Apart from using the Jersey Milk, they have also imported more flavours such as Hokkaido Kurobuta Pork Belly and Bacon along with Japanese herbs.
At Baristart Café, you get to choose from three types of coffee beans – their very own Baristart Blend and two single origin beans that changes every month. All of these will taste great with the Hokkaido BIEI Jersey Milk.
Featured Menu Items
You get to indulge in the delectable flavours of Hokkaido. These dishes vary from its authenticity to local mouth-watering favourites.
Hokkaido Carbonara and Obihiro Butadon
Their Hokkaido Carbonara ($17.80) is al dente pasta drenched with Hokkaido rich milk, making this cream-based spaghetti taste divine. The dish is made with a super creamy sauce, concocted with their signature Hokkaido BIEI Jersey Milk.
A generous handful of Hokkaido Kurobuta bacon are also tossed into the noodle and the dish is then topped off with a perfectly poached egg, seasoned with black pepper and parmigiano cheese.
Their Obihiro Butadon ($18.80) comes from Tokachi, Obihiro and was then introduced to the world. It is a simple and comforting specialty pork rice bowl. Sliced pork belly is flavoured with sweet soy sauce and neatly arranged into fluffy white Japanese rice. It is then glazed with a special teriyaki sauce, making it a perfect everyday meal.
Shaved Ice and Cream Puffs
Their shaved ice treat (Shiro Kuma) is shaped like a bear, and it comes with a variety of toppings and syrups. Shiro Kuma ($9.80) gets a drizzle of Hokkaido BIEI Jersey Milk and served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Lying beneath the shaved ice are colourful fruits such as oranges, mangos, white peaches and strawberries. It also comes with a side of syrups such as coffee, strawberry, mango and green tea flavours.
The creams puffs (from $6.00) are always a crowd-favourite. This National Day, enjoy their Milo Dinosaur Cream Puff that is loaded with their Hokkaido BIEI Jersey Milk custard cream combined with milo, dusted with Milo Powder on top. This is a special edition that will be available from 9-31 August 2021. Limited quantities are available daily and only one piece is allowed per customer.
