Looking for a place to chill after work hours in the CBD? The newly opened Gyu San at Guoco Tower will impress your colleagues with their top-grade Japanese wagyu fat-fried katsu sandos and chips.
For an indulgent treat, all sando and chips are fried in an indulgent mix of oils rendered from the different fats of premium true Japanese wagyu. Gyu San is the only place in Singapore able to prepare their sando and chips this way as they obtain the fat from their own butchery.
Bite into a juicy and melt in your mouth Gyu Katsu Sando, where a prime steak cut of marbled A5 Japanese wagyu (Gyu San house cut $32, striploin $48 or chateaubriand $62) is deep-fried and sandwiched between two slices of Japanese milk shokupan bread. With a light spread of wasabi aioli that brightens up the whole dish, it is great on its own or with a glass of sake.
Non-beef options are also available such as the Tamagoyaki Katsu Sando ($18) with a thick and fluffy omelette patty or the Ebi Katsu Sando ($28) that is made with a fresh minced shrimp patty, deep-fried and complemented with a housemade tartare sauce.
For a sweet twist, the Fresh Fruits Sando ($12), is a refreshing dessert sandwich stuffed with juicy seasonal fresh fruits and housemade whipped custard cream.
Other delectable sides include the crowd favourite Wagyu Chips ($8), which sees sliced russet potatoes fried to thin, crisp chips and topped with furikake. Deep fried in top grade Japanese Wagyu fat, the savoury beefy taste lingers in your mouth that will have you going for seconds.
Lighter options for the health conscious includes the A5 Yakiniku Salad ($18) for yakiniku lovers, and the Green Salad ($8) which sees fresh crisp greens being served with a light and refreshing Gyu San dressing.
As a Japanese butchery and sando shop, also offers over 55 premium Japanese wagyu cuts from farm to table that are procured directly from different prefectures of Japan.
Prime selections like striploin, tenderloin and ribeye are offered alongside secondary cuts that are just as sought after like the flank, oyster blade and tri tip.
With a cosy indoor section and an airy alfresco area, experience Japan’s world-class wagyu in-house or to-go at Gyu San today! For more information, visit their Facebook page or Instagram (@gyusan.sg) for the latest offerings and updates.
