I am pretty adventurous when it comes to trying different cuisines, so is my family. We would go about trying different cuisines here in Singapore. Some of the cuisines that we love are Indonesian, Chinese, Thai, and Korean. However, we have yet to get a taste of Scandinavian cuisine here in Singapore.

Scandinavian cuisine comes from Scandinavia which covers the three kingdoms of Denmark, Norway and Sweden. I am pretty curious on how their dishes taste like. Let’s look at some of the Scandinavian restaurants here in Singapore.

LUX Restaurant

LUX Restaurant brings authentic Scandinavian food to Singapore. The cuisine comprises of the Nordic nations of Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Iceland. It gives you a wide range of simple yet classic flavour profiles, combining to produce hearty and satisfying meals.

The restaurant offers several Scandinavian dishes such as Starters, Main Course, Desserts and Beverages. Start your meals with starters such as Toast Skagen ($20.00) made with Norwegian shrimps dressed in a tangy sauce, topped with fish roe. Or you can also order their Swedish Herring ($21.00) instead.

Some of their main course dishes include their Gourmet Swedish Meatballs ($29.00), Norwegian Cured Salmon with Dill Creamed Potatoes ($29.00) and Beef Tenderloin Stroganoff ($26.00). End your meal with desserts such as their Swedish Chocolate Brownie ($10.00) and their Rhubarb Pie Served with Creamy Vanilla Sauce ($11.00).

Pink Fish

With the Norwegian salmon as the star of the show, Pink Fish is a fast-casual seafood concept restaurant bringing you fresh Norwegian salmon to their diners. The restaurant offers a wide range of salmon dishes, packed with delicious international flavours. Today, Pink Fish has restaurants in Oslo, Stavanger and Singapore!

The restaurant offers several different dishes such as burgers, poke bowls, soup and more. Some of their burgers include their Avocado Burger ($9.90), Korean Burger ($9.90), Singapore Burger ($9.90) and American BBQ Burger ($9.90).

Fika Swedish Café and Bistro

Fika Swedish Café and Bistro serves home-cooked, traditional Swedish food and pastry. The food is made with only the finest ingredients, allowing diners to have an unforgettable dining experience. But what does fika mean? Fika is a social institution in Sweden which also means having coffee with a colleague, friends, date or family.

At Fika, indulge in delicious Scandinavian dishes such as soups, pastas, main course, and more. For appetisers, try their Hasselback Potato on Cheesy Skagen ($11.00) or their Pickled Herring Plate ($14.00).

Moving on to the main course, try their Swedish Lamb Stew ($24.00), Herb-Crusted Salmon ($26.00), Pytt I Panna ($19.00). The dish is made with sautéed diced Black Angus beef, potatoes, onions, topped with a sunny side up egg. It is served with pickled red beets, and a side salad.

For desserts, get your hands on their Apple Crumble Pie ($9.00), Salted Caramel Waffle ($12.00) and their Kladdkaka ($8.00). It is a Swedish brownie, served with whipped cream, chocolate sauce, berries and topped with icing sugar.
