I cannot wait to travel once the pandemic is over. I have longed to explore other countries to learn more about their culture and visit places that cannot be found here in Singapore. Trying out different cuisines is another thing that I have always wanted to do. I mean sure we have other cuisines available here but trying out authentic ones would not hurt anyone.
I have been to several Asian countries but have yet to visit the Philippines. The Philippines is known for having beautiful beaches and delicious fruits. Little that I know, the Philippines consists of more that 7,000 islands which makes it one of the biggest archipelagos in the world. How amazing is that!
There is so many things to do in the Philippines. From enjoying scenic views and getting up close with nature, to participating in thrilling adventures and indulging in scrumptious food. Here are some of the things you can do in the Philippines.
Sumilon Island
Located just a short boat ride from Oslob, Sumilon Island is a small sandbar island as is one of the epic spots for relaxing, snorkelling and exploring the clear waters in Cebu.
One of the best things to do at Sumilon Island is snorkelling. Get up close with some of the marine life along the shores of the island. For those who wants to explore deeper into the depths of the sea, there are also diving sites at Sumilon Island.
Apart from snorkelling and diving, you can also enjoy excellent hospitality at Sumilon Island Bluewater Resort. Choose between their provided rooms and villas or enjoy the outdoors and opt for their glamping tents instead. Dine at their Pulo Restaurant to enjoy a Filipino feast and treat yourself at Amuma Spa.
Tangadan Falls
Tangadan Falls is one of at least ten waterfalls in the town of San Gabriel. It is a two-tier waterfall along the Baroro River. The lower tier is the waterfall towers around 50 feet and width of about 100 feet, thus creating a natural pool for a quick dip. The upper tier offers a deeper pool for adventurous divers.
You can also head over to Kapandagan Fall which is further up. Since Tangadan Fall is just 20 minutes way from the surfing town of San Juan, Tangadan Falls is the perfect destination to visit after a fun time surfing at La Union.
Sandboarding at La Paz Sand Dunes
Experience the thrill of sandboarding at the sand dunes of La Paz. The sand dunes are located along the coast of Laoag City and is a natural coastal desert shaped by the sea and wind. Hop onto their 4×4 ride as you ride down steep slopes.
Upon arriving at the sandboarding point, you can start off by sitting down on your sandboard to get a feel of how it is like. After you got the hang of it, you can start surfing down the slope and experience the thrill of it. This is considered one of the top ATV destinations to visit in the Philippines. I am up for some thrilling sandboarding fun!
The Mind Museum
After a fun exploration of the outdoors in the Philippines, maybe it is time to proceed indoors. The Mind Museum takes science to a whole other level. It aims to initiate science engagement to offer solutions to real-world problems.
There offer several exhibits to allow you to learn more about the world of science. Some exhibits include:
- Atom Gallery: The Strange World of the Very Small
- Life Gallery: The Exuberant Varieties of Life
- Earth Gallery: Nature Across the Breadth of Time
- Universe Gallery: The Beginning and Majesty of the Cosmos
- Technology Gallery: The Showcase of Human Ingenuity
Apart from galleries, they also offer travelling exhibitions to provide a more fun and engaging time for their visitors. It allows you to participate in hands-on activities as you learn more about the world around you.
The Philippines is full of surprises. There are so many activities to do in the Philippines that is close to impossible here in Singapore. Share this with your family and friends as it is good to plan ahead for your next trip while we fight against the pandemic. The Philippines might just be your next dream destination!
