Executive Chef KT has crafted a constellation of dishes that represent blessings, happiness, and prosperity that are all delicious and great tasting. Don’t just hear it from us, you have to try it for yourself to believe it.
The 6-course Lunar Prosperity Feast (4 to 6 pax: $198, 8 to 10 pax: $338) comes with an assortment of meat and seafood that will definitely fill you up with good food. Customers will be able to enjoy a stress-free meal while concentrating on what matters most: family and loved ones.
Start off with the Double Prosperity Yu Sheng with shredded premium veggies, cured salmon pieces, and a tangy plum sauce. Not to be missed, upgrade your smoked salmon slice for fresh Toro Sashimi ($40 per 100 grams) along with gleaming gold flakes for a lavish meal.
Personally, I am not a big fan of Yu Sheng, but this particular version was incredible. The sashimi’s freshness caught me off guard, and the additional of salmon roe adds to the flavour. The flavour complexity and softness where you barely need to chew made me wish I had topped up for more of the sashimi. The explosion of umami in your mouth paired with the veggies makes it something you MUST TRY!
Other dishes include the gourmet Chicken Abalone Soup that is boiled for 8 hours; the fragrant Scallop Lotus Glutinous Rice stir-fried with scallops and wrapped in lotus leaves; succulent jumbo Sichuan Prawns as well as Garlic Chives with Smoked Duck that are julienned and stir-fried till semi crisp.
To end off the great meal, a refreshing and delicious Peach Gum Cheng Tng is included in the set. Nourishing and refreshing, this sweet dessert is made using peach gum, red dates, dried logan, ginkgo nuts and wolfberries that is also an auspicious symbol for a sweet and blissful year ahead.
If you feel like rewarding your family further, opt to add on the Buddha Jumps Over The Wall (from $68 for 1pax), which is housed in a ceramic pot with a beautiful plum blossom motif. The outstanding double-boiled soup is made with a variety of ingredients that are simmered for 20 hours to extract their flavours.
The delicious aroma of the soup left me salivating, and once I started, I couldn’t stop. The plethora of ingredients such as abalone, fish maw, sea cucumbers, quail eggs, shiitake mushroom, pork trotter left me truly impressed. Its mouthful of flavours captured me and sent me straight into a blissful food coma.
For those who are looking to step into the world of Peranakan cuisine, the Nonyalicious Chinese New Year Feast (4 to 6 pax: $428, 8 to 10 pax: $698) by Nyonya Chef Julianna and Nyonya Chef Florence will surely impress.
Oh boy, the Pork Belly Buah Keluak is perhaps one of the most labour-intensive dishes I’ve ever tried in my lifetime. Individually selected and steeped for seven days, the buah keluak nuts are cracked open and grounded before stewing with soft pork belly and aromatic spices to make a rich umami sauce.
It was my first time trying buah keluak and its nuttiness elevated the flavours of the pork belly. The gelatinous layer of fat and the fork-tender meat makes it a comforting dish and left my stomach happy & guilt-ridden.
Another main dish would be the Nyonya Udang Masak Nanas (Curry Pineapple Prawns) that has a creamy gravy made with coconut milk simmered with Nonya spices. The meal’s combination of sweetness and tanginess makes it an appealing Chinese New Year dish that I look forward to every year.
Served with Butterfly Pea Rice, enjoy a Nyonya Chap Chai that will invoke the nostalgia of familiar flavours and comfort, Gwa Huay – Ngoh Hiang which consists of a meat roll made with minced pork liver, crunchy water chestnuts, fresh prawns and spices rolled and fried in a beancurd sheet.
Wash it all down with a Hee Piow Th’ng (Fish Maw & Crab Meatball Soup) with unique textures and juicy crab meatballs followed by a Peach Gum Cheng Tng sweet ending.
